Lily Leseiur did not take it easy on her former team or her younger sister over the weekend.

The former Mohawk Trail Regional High School softball player struck out 14 and allowed just one hit over seven innings to beat her younger sister in a pitching duel and lead Mt. Greylock Regional High School to a 5-0 victory in an independent tilt Saturday in Williamstown.

Lily Leseiur, a freshman who transferred to Mt. Greylock after playing for Mohawk last season, was dominant against her old team, allowing just one hit to Ashley Walker and not walking a batter. Her younger sister, an eighth-grader who now pitches for Mohawk after Lily’s departure, pitched six strong, allowing five runs on just six hits and one walk. She also struck out one and was hurt by three Mohawk errors.

The Mounties scored single runs in the first and third innings before plating three runs in the fourth to open up the lead.

Elena Cerreira had three hits and scored two runs in the win. Marley Buffis had one hit and one RBI, and Lily Leseiur drove in one run.

Athol 10, Taconic 7 — Haley Bigwood and Sadey Lehtomaki helped lead Athol High School to a 10-7 win over Taconic High School in an independent game Saturday in Athol.

Bigwood went 3-for-3 at the dish and finished a home run shy of the cycle, driving in six runs. She also struck out five batters in four innings. Lehtomaki, meanwhile, went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and three RBIs. Destiny Wrigley had two hits, including a double, and Lindsey Leblanc pitched three strong innings.

Athol opened up a 10-0 lead after three innings and held on for the win as Taconic plated six runs in the fourth inning.

Four Rivers boys win pair

The Four Rivers Charter School boys’ ultimate team went 2-0 over the weekend at the Andover High School Tournament in Andover.

The Otters defeated both Andover (13-0) and Harvard (13-1) to win their bracket in the tournament and advance to the semifinals. At that point, the weather turned rainy and further play was halted.

Henry Zwart had a strong day playing both offensively and defensively. Zwart scored seven points in the two games, and also defended very well. Evan Leaf was a top handler for the Otters, and also played well defensively.

Four Rivers (3-1 overall) will travel to Northfield Mount Hermon School Wednesday at 2:45 p.m. and will then host the Four Rivers Invitational this weekend at Greenfield Community College and Greenfield High School, which features 37 teams.
