Former Gill assessor hired for contracted help
GILL — Former Principal Assessor Diane Sumrall, who resigned Sept. 25, has been hired by the town to work 16 hours a week, at a rate of $35.65 per hour, to help train a new assistant to the assessor or principal assessor once that person has been hired.
Sumrall, who now works three days a week in Erving as the principal assessor there, offered to provide training to Gill’s new hire.
The Gill Selectboard approved her to work 16 hours per week in a 2-1 vote, with Chair Charles Garbiel voting “no” due to his objection with paying $35.65 per hour. She will work for about one month, but exact timing will be established once a new person is hired.
