Also, new this year will be the issuing of  “passports” to those attending. Those with passports can get them “stamped” by participating shops and galleries, and then redeem their passports at McCusker’s Market, for a free hot chocolate and coupons for village discounts on Dec. 10.

Goodbye ‘Art Walk,’ hello ‘Second
Saturday’

SHELBURNE FALLS  The Greater Shelburne Falls Area Business Association is phasing out its quarterly “Art Walk” program, highlighting art galleries around the village, and will instead replace it with a village wide “Second Saturday” promotion on the second Saturday of each month, beginning with Dec. 10.

Business Association Director Carmella Lanza-Weil said the change gives shop owners more flexibility to organize special events, such as art receptions, book signings and retail discounts, around Second Saturdays. “Second Saturday is about showing off who we are all the time: a place where visitors can meet the artists/curators themselves and get a behind-the-scenes understanding of their craft,” says the association’s website.
