There’s lots to do at the Eric Carle Museum at 125 West Bay Road in Amherst this summer — and throughout the fall.

Get there before Aug. 28, when “The Eric Carle: Hide and Seek” ends. Eric Carle made many pieces of unforgettable art over 50 years that are included in more than 70 books. Unbeknownst to most readers, Carle left behind a trail of “Easter eggs” in his illustrations. He often hid “C” and “R” in his images, denoting the first letters of his children’s names.

“Americana on Parade: The Art of Robert McCloskey” will be at the museum through Oct. 23. The museum has organized a retrospective highlighting much of the original art from McCloskey’s “Make Way for Ducklings.”
