MONTAGUE — A man was transported to Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield after suffering arm lacerations when the vehicle he was driving crashed off the roadway on Millers Falls Road in Montague on Tuesday morning.
The white Lincoln Navigator the unidentified man was operating sustained major front-end damage and was removed from the scene by Rau’s Towing. Multiple calls from witnesses were made to the Montague Public Safety Complex at roughly 10:10 a.m., a dispatcher said. Montague Police Sgt. Joshua Hoffman said the cause of the accident was unknown.
The vehicle came to a stop at the edge of a wooded area shortly past West Mineral Road, on the same side of the road as the Turners Falls Airport. The vehicle was wedged on top of sticks and branches from nearby trees. An employee of Rau’s Towing maneuvered the Navigator from its spot in a process that lasted about 20 minutes. Turners Falls firefighters were seen helping the tow truck operator remove a long branch from beneath the vehicle so it could be moved onto the truck bed.
