First Franklin House candidate Natalie Blais has won the endorsement of Franklin County Sheriff Chris Donelan, Register of Probate John Merrigan and Northwestern District Attorney David Sullivan.
“Together, we strongly endorse Natalie Blais’ candidacy for the 1st Franklin District,” said Donelan, Merrigan and Sullivan in a joint statement issued Friday. “Natalie was at the table with us the very first day the Opioid Task Force was formed and has been a partner in efforts to prevent opioid addiction and expand access to treatment and recovery. As an example, her assistance in organizing prescription drug take-back events was extremely helpful.”
“Working alongside us for the last decade, Natalie Blais has been on the ground supporting investments in re-entry programs, public safety infrastructure and emergency communication technology,” said Donelan. “She is not afraid to roll up her sleeves and work with local, state and federal public safety officials to get the job done.”
“Natalie Blais cares deeply about this region and is fueled by a desire to do what is right,” said Merrigan. “She has the practical experience and political expertise to effectively fight for the people of the 1st Franklin District at a time when we need a strong champion on Beacon Hill.”
“You won’t find a more principled person or harder worker than Natalie Blais,” said Sullivan. “She has proven her ability to break down barriers for the betterment of our communities and understands that we are stronger and more effective when we work together.”
Blais, of Sunderland, is one of eight Democrats running in the Sept. 4 primary race for the House seat being vacated by Rep. Stephen Kulik.
