Here’s the list of projects that will benefit from the state Department of Energy Resource’s 2017 Green Communities Competitive Grant Awards.
Leverett was awarded $68,437 to fund energy conservation in town buildings including the library, public safety complex and Elementary School.
Sunderland was given $129,805 for energy conservation in town buildings like the Elementary School, town offices, and its public safety complex.
Buckland received $74,439 and will use the money for interior LED lighting, mechanical weatherization, and weatherization at the police station and other municipal facilities.
Montague, too, will use its money for energy conservation efforts. This includes Sheffield School, Shea Theater, and Carnegie Library. The money, amounting to $168,610, will be used for recommissioning pumps, lighting controls, replace rooftop units, HVAC ductwork replacement, and furnace and AC system upgrade with oil to propane fuel conversion.
And Greenfield was awarded $224,610 for heating and air conditioning system upgrades and rooftop unit replacements.
