1:30 a.m. — A female caller requested that an officer conduct a well-being check on her husband because he is making concerning statements to her over the phone; officers spoke with the male who advised that he doesn’t want to harm himself; they were advised.
1:58 p.m. — Breaking and entering reported on East Main Street where the caller says someone may have tried to enter his apartment last night; the reporting person explained how he found marks on the front and back doors consistent with someone trying to pry them open with a screwdriver; the reporting person also found a screen on the back of the building that had been pushed in; the reporting person just wanted this logged as there was an incident with another person last night and he thinks this might be related.
2:20 a.m. — Officer was east bound on East Main Street when he almost struck a male walking in the travel lane, and hitch hiking; officer stopped to check on the male, and determined him to be intoxicated, but he requested a courtesy transport to his residence in Athol; before the transport the officer conducted a search of the male for any weapons, and located crack cocaine; the male will be summoned to court for possession of a Class B drug, to wit, crack cocaine; the male was transported, and released to a sober and responsible adult.
3:30 p.m.— A report of a large flower pot, approximately 70 pounds, in the middle of the roadway on East Main Street; officer determined that the flower pot was dragged from in front of the antique shop, and placed in the westbound travel lane; the hazard was removed from the roadway.
10:49 a.m. — Control reports two vehicles had a minor collision and the operators spoke, and were to meet to exchange information, but the operator that caused the accident didn’t follow through; that operator was located by New Salem Police, and said the operator’s glasses fell off, and his foot slipped off the brake when he was addressing that problem, and struck the other vehicle; no obvious damage to either vehicle.
10:50 p.m. — Control reports that the reporting person got a call looking for donations to assist fallen firefighters; when the caller was told the person he was speaking to was in public safety, the caller hung up; he wanted us aware in case this is a new scam starting up.
11:30 p.m. — A report of a large bonfire on Lincoln Avenue with kids pointing a laser at vehicles as they pass by the residence; officers made contact with the homeowner and guests to educate them about pointing laser at vehicles; the fire was under control, no Fire Department response was necessary.
10 a.m. — Report of a breaking and entering into a motor vehicle, on Hope Street where the reporting person states that someone broke the locks off the toolbox in the back of his truck; he states that it doesn’t look like anything is missing, but they left behind a fishing pole; officer investigating found the locks cut, but nothing missing.
10:02 a.m. — Breaking and entering into a motor vehicle, reported on Union Street where two vehicles were found to have been rummaged through, but nothing significant taken, complaint issued.
10:56 a.m. — Breaking and entering into a motor vehicle reported on Maple Street; officer to investigate, and report taken.
11:01 a.m. — Breaking and entering into a motor vehicle, report on Pleasant Street; situation investigated.
11:40 a.m. — Breaking and entering into a motor vehicle, reported on School Street, again an officer was sent to investigate, and report issued.
11:52 a.m. — Breaking and entering a motor vehicle on School Street where a vehicle was again entered and rummaged through, but nothing was stolen.
12:16 p.m. — Report of a breaking and entering into a motor vehicle on Mountain Road, again, officer to investigate.
1:08 p.m. — Breaking and entering into a motor vehicle reported on Mountain Road again, officer investigating.
3:24 p.m. — Parking problem reported on Eunice Williams Drive where the caller says five vehicles are in a no parking zone; officer sent, and found area packed with 35 cars, and around 75 to 100 people, and about seven cars slipped through two large boulders, and were parking next to the river on the upper bank on the west side of Eunice Williams Drive; no damage found, but the town may have to place more boulders there.
8:06 a.m. — Two reports received of a disturbance occurring on Chapman Street near The Salvation Army building, where one caller says there were two people that were attacking an elderly male on a bicycle, and that male may have run away, but in unknown direction; officers sent and found it was an argument, nothing physical occurred; all were gone on arrival of police; no victim located or citizens requesting police assistance.
9:52 a.m. — Report of a breaking and entering on Highland Avenue where the caller says it was into a garage there; officer investigating, and learned that a knapsack was stolen from the garage.
10:44 a.m. — Caller from Collectible Treasures on Main Street where the reporting person says a threat was being made, as someone is saying that the reporting person is going to be their next meal; officer spoke with the reporting person and the other person and they were advised.
10:48 a.m. — Report of larceny on Conway Street where the caller says someone stole her bike lock overnight; she told the officer that she put it in a bag, and it may have dropped out of the bag while riding the bike; the cable lock is missing, but she still has the key to the lock.
11:55 a.m. — Accident reported on Chapman Street near the Salvation Army; two vehicles involved, but no injuries reported; minor accident found, and information was exchanged.
2:44 p.m. — General disturbance on Bernardston Road where the reporting person states a man and wife are arguing, and the reporting person cut in, and now the woman is pushing the reporting person; officers responded, and found neighbors arguing, and both allege the other spit on the other; they were advised of their options; the situation was discussed as best we could for the situation, and intoxication was involved.
2:55 p.m. — Despondent person reported on Congress Street where the reporting person said her husband just stated he is going to kill himself; the reporting person stated he left on his bicycle; officer sent to check the area, and then requested the husband’s cell phone be pinged; it was done and the person was located, in the woods by the covered bridge, on Eunice Williams Drive; he was transported to Baystate Franklin Medical Center, on a Section 12 process.
2:56 p.m. — Report of a wire down on Conway Street; Fire Department responding, and Eversource was notified.
3:36 p.m. — Accident reported in area of the Meineke Muffler and Brakes store on Bernardston Road where the operator of a single car reports that an unknown reddish brown, pickup truck, pulled out in front of the reporting person’s vehicle, causing him to swerve to avoid hitting the other vehicle; the operator’s vehicle struck two street signs, and came to rest in the Meineke Muffler lot; the unknown pickup continued north on Bernardston Road, failing to stop for the accident; still under investigation.
4:35 p.m. — Shoplifting reported at Big Y Foods on the Mohawk Trail where the officer reports they have two shoplifters in custody; arrested was Rebecca Mae Robitaille, 28, of Elm Terrace, Greenfield, on a warrant.
4:41 p.m. — Report of a breaking and entering into a motor vehicle, on Madison Circle; officer investigating and found the car was entered overnight, but nothing was taken; report filed.
4:44 p.m. — Accident reported at Washington and Deerfield streets, two cars involved; minor injuries to the occupants of the vehicle with airbag deployment; both vehicles being towed, one taken to a residence in Shutesbury; under investigation.
7:14 p.m. — Caller from area of Wedgewood Gardens (former trailer park) on Colrain Street, states a man is swearing at his child and operating an ATV on the property; the officer that was sent advised the man of the complaint, and they were moved along.
11:30 p.m. — Traffic stop on High Street at Madison Circle; where the investigation leads to arrest of Anthony Patrick Saylor, 28, of Ayer, on a warrant.
6:58 p.m. — Reporting person called from Avenue A advising she has taken a stray dog, and it was just hit by a car; the reporting person states she lives in Rowe but came to Turners, and the dog was hit by a the corner of Fourth Street and Avenue A; the dog has obvious injuries and the reporting person took the dog inside of an apartment of a friend but can’t bring it to the vet; call was placed to the ACO, but no answer, and a message was left; two officers responded to the apartment building; there one person was taken into custody, as after officers spoke with the reporting person she admitted that the dog hadn’t been hit by a car in Turners and the reporting person was a passenger in a vehicle that was in an accident in Deerfield this afternoon; the reporting person fled the scene with the dog; officer checked with Deerfield and that department has all the info they needed, and is all set with the reporting person; however, the officers found the woman involved is wanted on a warrant, and arrested was Carpi A. Bryant, 27, of Zoar Road, Charlemont, on the default warrant. The emergency vet in Deerfield couldn’t take the dog without knowledge of the owner that could be billed, and advised the best they could do would be to scan for a micro chip, and possibly keep the dog overnight until the ACO can be reached, but can’t guarantee that; People in the building where the dog is now will keep it overnight and will bring it to a vet in the morning.
12:07 a.m. — While on patrol, an officer located two people in the town park on King Street, both were advised of the park hours, and sent on their way
1:05 a.m. — Officer on patrol came across a vehicle parked at the boat ramp on Lake Mattawa Road; operator and passenger was found sleeping, and were sent on their way.
12:16 a.m. — Erving Police requested assistance with attempt to contact a female who ran behind some homes on River Road in Erving; officer requested a K-9 unit which responded and with officer located the female; arrested was Jennifer M. Doolitte, 36, of Lake Pleasant Road, Lake Pleasant, on a default warrant.
8:11 a.m. — Larceny reported on Avenue A in an apartment building where the caller requested an officer regarding a female as his apartment who is trying to take his money; the resident had given the female $40 and she agreed to leave the apartment; officer responded and the resident requested it be on record, and he was advise of options.
9:41 a.m. — Caller from Cumberland Farms on Montague City Road where the reporting person is calling on behalf of a vendor who had a piece of equipment stolen while making a delivery there; officer investigating.
8:04 a.m. — Suspicious activity reported by an employee of the railroad who contacted the security manager to say that while the employee was driving under the bridge at Cheapside there was a male in a blue stripped shirt carrying a backpack, standing on the bridge; officers checked the area and all visible area of tracks, but the subject was gone on arrival of police.
