The national Working Families Party has endorsed Francia Wisnewski for state representative in the 1st Franklin District.

“Francia has been fighting for social, racial and economic justice in Western Massachusetts for a long time. We know she will continue to walk the walk on Beacon Hill. We are proud to support her,” said Georgia Hollister Isman, the Working Families Party’s New England political director.

The Working Families Party is a national political organization working in more than 1,000 large and small races this year to elect more progressive leaders and end Republican control of Congress and in state legislatures.

Wisnewski, an educator specializing in early intervention and literacy, chairs the Hampshire/Franklin Commission on the Status of Women and is an elected member of Montague Town Meeting. She is one of seven Democrats running in the Sept. 4 primary for the 1st Franklin District House seat.
