Friends of Gill Pancake Breakfast will be served Saturday from 8 to 10:30 a.m. at the Gill Congregational Church. Regular and blueberry pancakes, sausage and/or bacon will be served. Honor Roll: Stephen Filiault of Gill was one of more than 300 University of Dallas students named to the fall 2017 Honor Roll for earning a semester GPA of 3.0-3.49. Filiault is majoring in economics and finance.

Greenfield

The League of Women Voters of Franklin County March open meeting will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Greenfield Public Library. Jacqueline Velez, lead organizer for Neighbor to Neighbor, will discuss the omnibus criminal justice reform bill currently in legislation.

Walk for a New Spring: The public is invited to join walkers on the 2018 Walk for a New Spring, organized by the New England Peace Pagoda. There will also be a potluck gathering Saturday from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Saint James and Andrews Episcopal Church, 8 Church St. The gathering will be hosted by Racial Justice Rising and will include information about the new Poor People’s Campaign being organized by the Reverends William Barber and Liz Theoharis. Sunderland

Frontier Regional CFCE Playgroup runs through June 8. The playgroup at Sunderland Elementary School runs each Monday and Friday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Come to the free, drop-in playgroup for a morning of informal play, interactive literacy and conversation with other families and caregivers of children infant age to 5. An eye witness to Hurricane Harvey will speak Saturday at 10 a.m. at Greenfield Savings Bank, 282 Avenue A. Come and join Emily Mew, local field representative from the Salvation Army, who was deployed last summer to the city of Houston and surrounding coastline. Franklin Area Survival Center: The food pantry and thrift store, hosted by staff and volunteers, is at 96 Fourth St. The thrift store is open Monday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The food pantry is open Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The center is closed Federal holidays. The thrift shop is open to the general public and helps finance its food pantry.
