12:25 p.m. — Report of people drinking in Peskeompskut Park on Avenue A again. Officer observed no sign of drinking; subjects are smoking cigarettes only.

Tuesday, Sept. 1

7:29 a.m. — Caller on Chestnut Street states a man has been knocking on the front and back doors of the house across the street since 6 a.m. Area checked, all quiet. Officers spoke to a neighbor who stated they heard the knocking, but it stopped an hour ago.

9:51 p.m. — Alarm sounding at the Colle Opera House on Avenue A. Rear keypad motion detector. Cleaning company present, verified with keyholder. Alarm system reset.

Wednesday, Sept. 2

2:53 p.m. — Walk-in to the station would like to talk to an officer about suspicious activity involving someone on the sex offender registry. She was given options to consider and advised to return if she would like to pursue any further charges in regard to the claims.

6:44 p.m. — Reporting party states she just got off the phone with her friend who told her that a male party punched her in the stomach. Caller reports her friend is crying and screaming for help. No known weapons. Reporting party is unsure if the involved individuals are separated and she hung up with her friend to call 911. Officers en route to Mormon Hollow Road advise they possibly just saw a female driving away. Attempted to call the female party. Call went straight to voicemail. Officers spoke to the involved male party, who denied any physical altercation. Witnesses denied as well. Officers checked a different address for the female party with negative findings.

Thursday, Sept. 3

2:32 p.m. — 911 hang-up from Turners Falls High School on Turnpike Road. Reporting party called back in reporting there was an aggressive driver who was not being patient in the parking lot during student pick-up. She states the driver cut her off and drove away. Officers advised.

9:24 p.m. — Caller on Avenue A states she went to plug a charger into an outlet and it made a loud popping noise. She states the outlet is now black in color, along with the charger. Reporting party was advised the Fire Department would assess the safety hazard.

10:19 p.m. — Caller from Crescent Street states she hears what sounds like a man’s voice coming from outside in the bushes. Caller states it does not sound like anyone is in distress, but she finds it odd. Officer advises Verizon employees are outside talking and will be in the area for the remainder of the night.

Friday, Sept. 4

12:27 a.m. — Reporting party states there is a female party with no shoes and possibly no pants stumbling in and out of the street on Millers Falls Road. Officer checked Millers Falls Road and did not find anyone matching the description.

11:11 a.m. — Reporting party states she walked by the camper parked in the municipal lot on First Street and heard people arguing inside. Officers on scene. Situation mediated, male party left.

Saturday, Sept. 5

12:00 a.m. — Reporting party on Fourth Street states her neighbor has been banging and making a lot of noise for the last half hour. She states it’s an ongoing issue around the beginning of the month and the landlord is aware, but tonight seems worse.

1:54 p.m. — Officer was flagged down on Millers Falls Road. Officer was told two motorcycles were operating at more than 100 mph, passing multiple vehicles in the breakdown lane, and weaving in and out of traffic. Last seen heading toward Millers Falls. Area search negative.

8:13 p.m. — Caller on Montague City Road states he can hear yelling in the distance. Reporting party was advised the RPM music festival was happening. Once advised, he believed that was the noise he heard.

Sunday, Sept. 6

1:54 p.m. — Reporting party on East Main Street alleges the resident across the hall came into her apartment while she was sleeping and stole her wallet. Report taken.

5:42 p.m. — Report of a vehicle with its hazard lights on, located on the bridge on 11th Street. Several male parties are reportedly fishing in the area. White vehicle with out-of-state plates. Officer checked the area, no vehicle matching the description. Bridge is clear.

6:35 p.m. — Report of a loose pig on North Leverett Road walking on the reporting party’s property. Caller advised it is not causing any damage. Reporting party will continue to inquire with neighbors if anyone knows who the pig belongs to.

11:57 p.m. — Traffic stop on South High Street. Vehicle took off, in pursuit. Police blocked in the vehicle at gunpoint. Victoria Lyvytsky, 18, of Monroe Avenue in Greenfield, was arrested on charges of failure to stop for police and driving at a rate of speed exceeding the posted limit.

Monday, Sept. 7

6:45 a.m. — Greenfield Police Department advising a caller reported seeing a blue heron with a fishing line hanging off of it in the area of the General Pierce Bridge on Montague City Road. MassWildlife contacted, then referred to Environmental Police.

6:22 p.m. — Reporting party from L Street reports there is a tractor-trailer unit parked on the roadway that has been running since 8 a.m. and is disturbing her peace. Officer advised. Officer was called to multiple medical emergencies, will return once available. By 7:45 p.m., the reporting party called back displeased nothing had been done. Reporting party became argumentative and hung up. Officer heading back to the area to try to make contact with the registered owner of the truck. Registered owner moved the vehicle to a different location and was advised of the complaint.

10:10 p.m. — A traffic stop at Winthrop Street and Millers Falls Road resulted in the arrest of Dragos Nichita, 25, of West Main Street in Millers Falls, on charges of OUI-liquor over .08%, possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and driving at a rate of speed exceeding the posted limit.

Tuesday, Sept. 8

4:16 a.m. — Reporting party on Park Villa Drive states her fire alarm went off and is now blinking red. Caller would like someone to come look at it. Officer advised the Fire Department is responding.

6:48 a.m. — Caller wanted it on record that the work at the Verizon substation on Avenue A started at 6:40 a.m. and it shouldn’t have started until 7 a.m. The work was reportedly very loud. Report taken.

8:23 p.m. — Report of a car in a ditch on Route 63 in the area of Gunn Road and a male party yelling in the field. Officers advised. Driver reports no injuries. Tow requested.

Wednesday, Sept. 9

12:35 a.m. — Reporting party on Avenue A states he just got home from work and the neighbor’s music is really loud. Ongoing issue. Officers advised. Arrie T. Daniels, 33, of Springfield, was arrest on a warrant.

Thursday, Sept. 10

11:30 a.m. — Report of a truck parked on the bend between South Street and Swamp Road with cones around it, causing a hazard. Landscaping work underway. Truck was moved into the driveway prior to officer’s arrival.

2:20 p.m. — Report of a big tree that fell on a house on Federal Street, crushing the house. No one is inside the residence. No sparks or flames, no wires involved. Fire Department is on scene. Damage impacted the garage and outside room. Homeowners will contact their insurance company. Building inspector en route.

Friday, Sept. 11

12:10 p.m. — Report of a few people arguing in Peskeompskut Park on Avenue A. Verbal argument, peace restored. All parties were advised of their civil options.

3:57 p.m. — Caller states there is a female party pacing on the Turners Falls-Gill Bridge. Reporting party states the female party looks at the water. Caller is concerned for her welfare. Officer located the female party in front of Town Hall. Female states she was driving with a male party when they got into a verbal argument over purchasing Halloween supplies at Family Dollar. Saturday, Sept. 12

11:11 a.m. — Walk-in to the station would like to speak to an officer regarding a male party standing in his yard on Millers Falls Road last night. Reporting party was advised to call the Police Department to report suspicious activity immediately moving forward. Wants it on record at this time if further activity occurs.

3:49 p.m. — Reporting party on Montague City Road states the neighbor’s dog just attacked her dog. They are separated at this time. Smaller dog sustained injuries to its ears and side. Contacted the animal control officer and provided information for both owners, she will be contacting them. Owner of the injured dog is bringing it to a clinic.

Sunday, Sept. 13

12:27 a.m. — Reporting party from Meadow Road states people are shooting guns and revving vehicles in the wildlife management area. Officers checked the area, no vehicles and no gunshots heard.

4:51 p.m. — Reporting party on Seventh Street states she had a tag sale yesterday, and she gave a box of Christmas bulbs and ornaments to a man. Today, the box and items were found smashed on her front steps and porch. Wants it on record. Officer advised.

Monday, Sept. 14

6:43 p.m. — Reporting party on 12th Street reports his roommate locked him out of the house and won’t let him back in. Officer advising the roommate opened the door and states it was never locked. Male party is back in the apartment.

6:53 p.m. — Reporting party on 12th Street requesting officers return to his residence. States his roommate went into his room and threatened him for calling the police. He is now scared for his life. Officers advised. Reporting party was picked up by a friend and will be gone for the evening.

7:54 p.m. — Traffic stop on Avenue A. Arlice P. Daveiga, 45, of Avenue A in Turners Falls, was arrested on a warrant.

Tuesday, Sept. 15

12:55 p.m. — Reporting party on Keith Street states her neighbors have cameras set up on their property that face her house and she doesn’t want them watching her as it’s an invasion of her privacy. Reporting party was advised of civil and court options.

11:31 p.m. — Officer was flagged down by a resident who was concerned about a vehicle in the cemetery on Turners Falls Road. Party was moved along.

Wednesday, Sept. 16

10:48 a.m. — Reporting party reports the sidewalk on Fourth Street and a road sign are spray painted green, with the sidewalk writing saying “set them free.” Officer advised.

8:34 p.m. — Caller advises there is a car parked on Second Street with its horn sounding constantly. Reporting party states an individual got out of the vehicle, yelled loudly, got back into the car and laid on the horn. Second caller reports the car horn has been sounding for roughly 20 minutes. Gone upon officer’s arrival. Another caller reports the vehicle that was beeping the horn earlier is now parked near the Shady Glen Diner. No active horn at this time, caller states. Officers advised.

Thursday, Sept. 17

2:20 a.m. — Reporting party on Bulkley Street states her fire alarm is sounding but there’s no sign of smoke or fire. Fire Department to be dispatched.

10:01 p.m. — Caller reports seeing a loose husky that appears to have a collar just north of Old Sunderland Road. Reporting party was advised there are no reports of a loose dog at this time, but the call would be logged.

Friday, Sept. 18

4:36 a.m. — Reporting part states there is a vehicle parked in the handicapped spot at the Nouria gas station on Third Street without a placard. The person parked, went in the store, bought items and then got in another vehicle. She would like the vehicle removed. Officer advised. Owner called and is on the way to try to remove that vehicle.

4:15 p.m. — Caller states there is someone in a vehicle playing music loudly on G Street. Caller states the involved male party who does this has done so for the past day or two. Reporting party was advised officers would respond when available. Reporting party called back stating the male party went back into his house. Party was advised the call would be logged and to call back if noise disturbances happen again.

Saturday, Sept. 19

8:10 a.m. — Concerned citizen reports a tree company is doing work in the area of the wastewater treatment plant on Greenfield Road, in the roadway, with no detail officer. Tree crew has no trucks in the road and is not working in the road at all. No issues, no hazards.

9:38 p.m. — Reporting party states the music is still playing at Peskeompskut Park on Avenue A. Caller believes the music was supposed to be done by 9 p.m. Officers were advised and will check the area.
