Funeral Consumers Alliance welcomes keynote speaker
NORTHAMPTON — The Funeral Consumers Alliance of Western Massachusetts will hold its annual membership meeting and program at the Unitarian Society of Northampton and Florence, located at 220 Main St., on Sunday, Oct. 4, at 2 p.m.
After a brief business meeting, keynote speaker Mike Reagan will explain the ecological and energy-saving benefits of returning the body to the earth by the process of Natural Organic Reduction (NOR) and why it has been adopted by 14 states, including nearby locations in the Northeast. There will be a question-and-answer period after the talk.

Greenfield Savings Bank to offer estate planning seminar
EASTHAMPTON — In collaboration with Legacy Counsellors PC, Greenfield Savings Bank will offer “Empowerment in Planning,” an estate planning seminar, on Thursday, Oct. 8, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the bank’s new branch at 1 Sierra Vista Blvd. in Easthampton. There is no cost to attend, but registration is required.
The presentation will be held in partnership with Heather Iampietro of Legacy Counsellors PC, an attorney with a regional firm focused on real estate and estate planning, and Amy Watts, a certified financial planner. Iampietro and Watts will review the essential estate planning documents every adult should have, and will discuss revocable living trusts, strategies for protecting a family’s wealth, and how to protect assets for children and future generations from potential creditors, lawsuits and other risks.
Participants will also learn how goals, life stages and feelings about risk can shape an estate plan and how proactive cashflow planning and risk management can help support financial goals and avoid setbacks.

Iampietro received her law degree from Western New England University. She focuses her practice on real estate transactions and estate planning, and is licensed in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire and Vermont.
