The 32nd Annual Don Maynard Memorial 5K and 2-mile walk seeks participants for its race scheduled for Sept. 19. The race starts at 9:30 a.m., at Greenfield Municipal Swimming Area.

The finish line is in the same location as the start. The first 50 racers who register receive a t-shirt. Participants are encouraged to make a donation to the Don Maynard Scholarship Fund, which awards scholarships to graduating Franklin County public school seniors.

Charity Golf

The Montague Elks charity golf tournament is set for Sept. 5 at Thomas Memorial. The tournament seeks donations of both raffle prizes and sponsors for the event.

The event raises funds for local veterans, youth programs and families in need in the community. Checks payable to Justin Demers of 28 River Road, Erving Ma. 01344.

Deadline to donate is Sept. 1.
