St. Stans captured its third straight Greenfield Co-Ed softball championship on Aug. 15. St. Stans used an 11-run sixth inning to defeat Liberty Tax Sharks, 18-6, at Greenfield Parks and Fields.
St. Stans rampaged through the regular season and the playoffs, finishing 17-1. The team was 4-0 in the nine-team double elimination playoff format. Liberty Tax Sharks finished 14-4.

After the game, the league named Kramer Patenaude and Logan Anderson as Most Valuable Players. The league honored Jenna Putala with multiple No. 2 jerseys hanging on the backstop and a league photo with Putala’s family after the championship game.

Awards
The Bay State Games announced its 2026 Sportsmanship Awards for the games played during the summer. The recognition demonstrates an athlete’s fairness, respect, integrity and the commitment to the spirt of competition. Coaches chose more than 40 athletes from across Massachusetts, representing eight different sports.
“Sportsmanship is a core value of the Bay State Games which we emphasize to all athletes, coaches and parents,” said Deputy Executive Director, Alanis Tirabassi. “These award recipients represent the very best of what the Bay State Games is all about.”
Haly Doucette-Kaplan of Frontier Regional took home a medal in field hockey. Frontier’s Skyler Steele received recognition for softball.
