12:18 p.m. — Report of a crash involving a Franklin Regional Transit Authority (FRTA) bus and a passenger vehicle at Avenue A and Third Street. No injuries reported.
7:25 p.m. — Caller on Montague City Road states someone cut down the apple tree she had in her yard. States it occurred sometime within the past week. Caller wanted the incident on record. Officer advised her about methods for feeling secure at her residence, such as picking up security cameras.
Tuesday, June 9
9:26 p.m. — Reporting party on Fourth Street reports a male party is trying to start a fire in the alleyway again. Turners Falls Fire Department advises the male party is allowed to have a fire within his firepit outside, which he has been told numerous times. Neighborly dispute. Fire is within the firepit and well-contained. Caller was directed to the Fire Department in the event of further questions about fires and burn permits.
10:01 p.m. — Reporting party on Griswold Street states he bought 11 turkeys two days ago and now they are gone. States he thinks he knows who took them but doesn’t know that person’s name. Would like to file a stolen animal report and wants the incident on record at this time until he can gather more information.
Wednesday, June 10
2:07 p.m. — Caller on Park Street states she was going to pick up mail for a friend and she found the residence’s front door open and damage to the door casing. House was checked, no one inside. Door may have been damaged by the wind. Nothing appears out of place or missing from the home. Officers secured the door.
4:05 p.m. — Landon R. Savoie, 18, of Turners Falls, was arrested on a warrant on Third Street.
Thursday, June 11
8:49 a.m. — Reporting party states that when she got to work at the library, there was a male party in the yard under the tent who was throwing their tables and yelling at himself. He then walked over to the Food City parking lot on Avenue A. Found to be an argument between partners. Peace restored.
9:29 a.m. — Caller on Millers Falls Road near the airport reports hitting a bear with his car. Bear ran into the woods. Vehicle sustained damage. Environmental police officer notified, states that if the bear isn’t on scene, no services are needed. Report taken.
Friday, June 12
7:05 p.m. — Caller states her juvenile son was walking by Connecticut River Liquors on Avenue A and was accosted by an individual. Involved male party was reportedly shouting profanities and making threats at around 6:30 p.m. Officer spoke with a liquor store employee, who advised the unidentified male party came into the store with no shoes on, so he was asked to leave. Male party became agitated and began yelling at the clerk. Employee states the male party left the store, then began yelling at the juvenile and chasing him. Officer requested a copy of the security footage. Area checked, male party was gone on arrival.
Saturday, June 13
9:49 a.m. — Security alarm sounding at Town Hall on Avenue A. Alarm company called back to cancel. Keyholder advised workers are in Town Hall. Officers advised.
Sunday, June 14
7:46 a.m. — Department of Public Works employee reports a male party is at the landfill on Sandy Lane taking returnable cans from the recycling bin. Officer reports the male party has permission to be there collecting cans for a charity.
8:50 p.m. — Report of a black Mustang traveling at a high rate of speed, estimated to be 80 to 100 mph, on Lake Pleasant Road. Vehicle was traveling toward Leverett. Shelburne Control Dispatch Center advised.
Monday, June 15
5:47 p.m. — Vehicle crash reported on Old Northfield Road. EMS requested. Two occupants both out of the vehicle. Male party is bleeding from his hand, suffered scrapes and is complaining of chest pain. Female party has a laceration. Both parties transported to Baystate Franklin Medical Center. Vehicle towed.
Tuesday, June 16
3:00 p.m. — Multiple callers reporting a vehicle fire on Millers Falls Road. No one in the vehicle. Transferred to the Shelburne Control Dispatch Center. Fire extinguished, heavy smoke in the area. Tow truck requested.
5:46 p.m. — Caller at Our Lady of Peace Church on Seventh Street reports there is a beaver stuck inside the side entrance to the church that is in distress. Animal control officer advised. Animal control officer is on another call and would like police to assess the situation. Also advises the animal is most likely a woodchuck. Animal removed.
Wednesday, June 17
3:53 p.m. — Two-vehicle crash on Federal Street. No smoke, fire, fluids or injuries. Tows requested for both vehicles, which are in the middle of an intersection. Turners Falls Fire Department shutting down a portion of the road that leads to Route 63.
Thursday, June 18
1:53 p.m. — Report of a tree and wires down on Dry Hill Road. Eversource unable to find the location on its mapping system. Officer advising Eversource is on scene and shut off the power. Department of Public Works contacted. Stood by while the tree was removed. Road was reopened.
Friday, June 19
4:47 a.m. — Tree down on Montague City Road. Officer states it’s a fairly large tree on the sidewalk area and blocking one lane of travel. Department of Public Works contacted. Tree was removed from the roadway and the lane was reopened.
4:37 p.m. — Caller on Chestnut Hill Loop reports she has had a bat in her house for a number of days and she has captured it. Reporting party is unsure if she or anyone else was bitten, including pets. Animal control officer will be reaching out to the caller.
Saturday, June 20
9:07 a.m. — Walk-in to the station from West Mineral Road reports his now ex-girlfriend made unauthorized purchases and money transfers using his phone about a month ago while he was incarcerated. Transactions were made at various locations in Millers Falls as well as online. Officer advised the reporting party to gather all documentation pertaining to these transactions and bring them to the station, as well as provide a written statement. Reporting party’s bank has provided a partial reimbursement but is requiring a police report for any additional reimbursement.
1:08 p.m. — Reporting party from Turners Falls Road reports fraudulent charges on his bank account. Charges are from Coinbase for cryptocurrency. Reporting party has already closed the relevant account and spoken with both his bank and Coinbase. Will contact police in the coming days if more is needed. Advised of options.
Sunday, June 21
1:49 a.m. — Report of power lines down near the train tracks on North Leverett Road. Eversource responding. Services rendered.
4:24 p.m. — Walk-in to the station reports smoke in the area of Turners Falls Road and Hatchery Road. Verified with the Turners Falls Fire Department that there’s no controlled burn at the Montague Plains Wildlife Management Area. Active brush fire confirmed. Officer assisting with traffic as firefighters respond.
