4:08 p.m. — Reporting party on Avenue A states there is an opossum living on the porch and she would like it removed. It was hissing last night and she has cats. Referred to another agency.

6:37 p.m. — Caller in the area of Lake Pleasant Road would like officers to check on a fawn that is laying on the side of the road. The mother had crossed the road with another fawn and the caller is unsure if the fawn is alive or hurt. Officer checked the area. Deer were gone on arrival.

8:28 p.m. — Vehicle located in the Third Street public lot with no license plates. Registration status is “inactive.” Vehicle towed.

Wednesday, May 27

1:25 p.m. — Reporting party on Montague City Road states someone is playing music very loudly and disturbing her peace. Music was turned down, no issues.

1:55 p.m. — Reporting party states there is a male party with a backwards hat drinking alcohol in Peskeompskut Park on Avenue A almost every day. Officer made contact with some other people at the park who said the man was there but left walking toward Food City. Officers checked the area, unable to locate.

Thursday, May 28

9:46 a.m. — Reporting party states there is a turtle stuck in a fence on the bike path near Sadie’s Bikes on Canal Street. Animal control officer notified. Turtle was freed.

6:24 p.m. — Reporting party is walking in the Montague Plains and two dirt bikes went by him. Reporting party was advised to contact Environmental Police.

6:29 p.m. — Reporting party states there is a black Mitsubishi SUV a couple of vehicles in front of him on Turners Falls Road driving 30 mph in a 50-mph zone. Cannot see a license plate at this time. Officer advised.

Friday, May 29

4:35 p.m. — Walk-in to the station from Sunset Drive is looking to speak to an officer. Has noticed that every Friday, between 4:00 and 5:00 p.m., a male party drives onto his property, gets out and walks around. Reporting party set up cameras. Officer spoke to the reporting party and advised him of the process for obtaining a no-trespassing order. Security footage was emailed to the officer.

Saturday, May 30

4:38 p.m. — Officer checking the area of Crestview Liquors along Unity Street for a female party who was being rude to an employee of the liquor store. Officer spoke with the employee who states he will call back if she returns.

Sunday, May 31

2:50 p.m. — Reporting party states the Department of Public Works went to the Recycling Center and Transfer Station to dump trash. When the gates were opened, people entered and then refused to leave when asked. Requesting officers respond to speak to the involved parties and let them out if they didn’t find an alternate route. Officer advising no one is in the Transfer Station, found a way around the fence.

4:08 p.m. — Reporting party states she observed black exhaust coming from a Mack truck in the area of Routes 47 and 63 at around 1:30 p.m. Caller expressed concern for the environmental impact.

Monday, June 1

8:21 a.m. — Reporting party states there is a goose that may have a neck injury wandering around near the parking lot on First Street. Goose was located and does appear to have a neck issue, but it was observed running, flying and swimming with no apparent issues.

10:02 a.m. — Reporting party states there is a something or someone making a yelling sound from the woods near her home on Winthrop Street. The noise is not sounding now, but could have come from the Green Pond and high-tension wire area. Officer checking the access road that cuts through to Lake Pleasant. Negative findings.

5:12 p.m. — Caller from Second Street states there is an ongoing and active dispute happening outside between her husband and individuals who reside upstairs. Reporting party advises she gave the individuals a 30-day vacate order today, and the issue stems from this and issues with her granddaughter. Officers were advised. Male party advises of a verbal dispute between himself, the granddaughter and the granddaughter’s boyfriend, and their child, who is being loud. Officer advises the involved parties were in the process of leaving for the night. Peace restored.

Tuesday, June 2

4:39 a.m. — Reporting party called to complain about the noise on Unity Street that the Department of Public Works is making due to cleanup of the road. DPW advised.

8:08 a.m. — Reporting party on Kimberly Lane states there is a camper parked on his property and he does not know whose it is. Officer made contact with the vehicle owner, who is going to move the camper.

5:04 p.m. — Caller reports a purple Honda Accord driving toward Cumberland Farms on Avenue A passed several vehicles on a double solid line. Unable to provide a further description. Officer checked the area, gone on arrival.

8:17 p.m. — Reporting party states she is calling for her neighbor on L Street who was scammed out of $1,900. Upon speaking with the involved female party, it was learned that no money was sent. Bank was contacted and advised. Services rendered.

Wednesday, June 3

8:55 p.m. — Reporting party from East Mineral Road states he had a package delivered at 4:30 p.m. today and when he got back home at around 7 p.m., it was nowhere to be found. He does have a Ring camera but it didn’t go off. Would like to file a report.

9:52 p.m. — Reporting party states there are people gathering at the baseball field at Turners Falls High School on Turnpike Road with coolers and they should not be there. Officer checked the area and moved the parties along.

11:36 p.m. — Reporting party from Hillside Road states he is seeing a blinking red light in the woods by where the trail is. Caller is concerned. Reporting party later called back as he realized it was a camera he has that has dying batteries.

Thursday, June 4

7:33 a.m. — Roadmaster from Pan Am railways would like an officer to explain to a woman who is on the tracks walking her dogs in Millers Falls that she is trespassing. Roadmaster not present upon arrival. Female party was advised of the complaint and advised of railroad boundaries.

10:55 a.m. — Received multiple calls about a black bear in the road at Second Street and Avenue A causing a traffic hazard, with people out trying to look at it and take pictures. Animal control officer advising the bear has been secured and they are releasing it on the other side of the bridge.

1:14 p.m. — Multiple callers report seeing a black bear cub running around in the Food City parking lot area at Avenue A and Seventh Street. Unable to locate the bear. Environmental Police will stay in the area in case it comes back.

8:09 p.m. — Reporting party from Worcester Avenue reports a male party is wandering around the neighborhood knocking on people’s doors and asking to go into their homes. States he came to her door, her husband answered, and the man told her husband that he cut off his ankle bracelet because people are looking for him and he has warrants. Warrant was confirmed with U.S. Marshals Service. Jason Englen, 43, of Broadview Heights in Turners Falls, was arrested as a fugitive from justice on a court warrant.

10:02 p.m. — Reporting party states there are people screaming outside in the area of T Street and her children are trying to sleep. Officers spoke to a female party who was playing music loudly. Advised to turn the music down. They will be going inside.

Friday, June 5

5:35 p.m. — Caller advises she was told by her son that his ex-girlfriend is at his location on Central Steet and is breaking windows and yelling. Reporting party advises she is not at the location, but is responding. Officer spoke to the property owner and advised him of the damage, and the process was explained regarding how to obtain a no-trespassing order. Male party expressed he would like charges pressed as well for the damage.

9:51 p.m. — Hadley Police Department requesting officers attempt to make contact with a female party. Vehicle registered to the female party was located in their town abandoned with flat tires. Requesting officers make contact and inquire if she is planning on getting a tow for the vehicle and to call their department. Officer advises he knocked on the apartment door on Avenue C several times, no contact made. Hadley Police advised.

Saturday, June 6

4:19 a.m. — Greenfield Police received a probation warrant for a male party and when they went to serve it, they were advised he was in Montague at his cousin’s house. Philip R. Wood, 50, of Vincent Road in Charlemont, was arrested on a probation warrant.

2:41 p.m. — Reporting party from K Street reports his neighbor is threatening him and his wife about parking in front of their own house. Would like an officer present to speak to her. Officer advises he spoke to the involved parties who wanted it on record at this time. Individuals were advised of their options going forward.

5:57 p.m. — Caller in the area of the Post Office on J Street reports finding a set of keys sitting on top of a vehicle. Caller is unsure what to do about it. Officer advises the vehicle and keys belong to FastLights LLC. Message left for them advising the keys are at the station. FastLight called back to advise someone would pick them up the next day.

Sunday, June 7

12:53 p.m. — Report of a female party shouting religious speech near the gate on Migratory Way. Only one call received but the reporting party stated is was alarming several people. Officer advised units made contact and spoke with the female party, who was just in a good mood and spreading the word of the Lord. She was advised that was OK but not to confront other walkers and to keep it down.

6:01 p.m. — Caller reports a sinkhole appears to be forming in front of their building on Rastallis Street. Reporting party states he put a cone in front of it, but advises it appears to be quite deep and could become a problem if someone drives over it. Department of Public Works will check it out.
