The Frontier girls summer league basketball team reigned supreme, registering a 46-18 win over Mahar in the championship game on Tuesday at Franklin Tech. Frontier closed out the season with an unblemished,11-0 record.
Abby Cendrowski and Harper Modestow led Frontier with 16 points each. Cendrowski is going to be a freshman next season for the Redhawks. The guard saw a lot of improvement over the course of the summer.
“I definitely played less scared,” Cendrowski said. “In the first games I was nervous to mess up because they were a little bit older. But I got confidence as the season went on. The support from other players gave me confidence. Addie (Harrington) and Harper (Modestow) were very supportive. “
Harrington had five points in the victory. With Frontier running the same sets on both sides of the floor the summer league gave the younger players and the older players to do it all together in a competitive environment.

“It’s all the same experience for everybody,” Harrington said. “Everyone has the same opportunities. The J.V. does exactly what the varsity does. When they all come up from varsity they will all be prepared. They did great. I was so proud of them.”
Mahar kept it close until there was about 10 minutes left in the first half. Nastasia Sanders led the Senators with five points. Marley Partridge and Adalynn Almeida both added four points.
Frontier 60, Mohawk 33 — Harrington scored 24 points in the win over the Warriors in the second semifinal match up of the evening. Modestow added 15 points. Cendrowski and Lindsey Hawkins both chipped in with five points.
Natalie Lanoue and Emmalee Inman scored nine points each for Mohawk. Sadie Wilcox battled her way to eight points in the paint for the Warriors.
Mahar 19, Pioneer 16 — In a low scoring affair, the Senators outlasted the Panthers to reach the championship game in the first semifinal game. Sanders and Almeida both scored six points for Mahar.
Maggie Tsipenyuk scored seven points for Pioneer.
Legion Baseball
Greenfield Post 81 (3), Monson Post 241 (1) (suspended) — Play had to be halted in the bottom of the first inning in the Western Mass. American Legion playoffs on Tuesday at Veterans Field. Play will resume at 5:30 on Wednesday.
DRIVE Hoops Men’s League
No Name 76, 413 Monarchs 74 — No Name slipped past 413 Monarchs on July 20 for a spot in the championship game. Chris Brown scored 31 points for No Name, with Grayson Thomas adding 14 points. Tayjon Joyner (18 points) and Spencer Butterfield (11 points) reached double-figures for the Monarchs.
Brattleboro 72, Futures Unlimited 65 — Kendrick Mills scored 22 points in the semifinal win for Brattleboro. Gabe Pacard added 16 points in the victory. Jayde Dawson led Futures Unlimited with 29 points. Matt Petrius scored an additional 20 points.
No Name and Brattleboro will play for a Men’s League championship on Thursday at 6:45 at Greenfield High School.
