Library making database changes amid budget cuts
GREENFIELD — Due to budget cuts in fiscal year 2027, the Greenfield Public Library is making the following database changes:
- Hoopla: The library is reducing the availability of its Hoopla Digital collection. Cardholders will now be limited to four borrows per month, and the total that the library can spend on the platform has been cut in half.
- Consumer Reports Online: Access to Consumer Reports Online ends on June 30. The library still has the paper magazine in the Periodical Lounge.
A new offering comes in the form of the Transparent Language Online, which provides flexible courses in more than 140 languages. Starting July 1, the program is available in collaboration with the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.
