Looking for a place to watch the United States men’s national team play Bosnia and Herzegovina in the FIFA World Cup Knockout Round on Wednesday night? Well look no further than the local theater house with buttery popcorn, candy and beer.

The World Cup makes its triumphant return to Greenfield Garden Cinemas after a successful first venture on June 19 when the United States defeated Australia, 2-0.

“We had such a great response the first time,” Greenfield Garden Cinemas co-owner Isaac Mass said. “We kept hearing from the community that they’d like to see another show…we were able to lock down the date and do it.”

Brad’s Place, the neighboring diner, helped sponsor the event. Owner Dan Devine has a mild case of soccer fever. Brad’s Place cook Jason Rose is the resident ‘soccer guy’ at the establishment.

“We went over and we saw when the Rec. Department let all those kids in there,” Devine said. “We saw that those kids were having a blast. They had their jerseys on over their soccer jerseys. I thought that was pretty neat.”

The American’s play at Levi Stadium in Santa Clara, Ca. The last time the United States played Bosnia was in 2021 in an International Friendly. The Americans won, 1-0.

“Come cheer on Team USA with fellow soccer fans as they battle for a spot in the next round,” Recreation Director Christy Moore said in an email. “Whether you joined us for the first watch party or couldn’t make it, we’d love to see you there for another exciting night of soccer and community.”

The theater can seat 214 guests, and it is free to the public. First come, first served with kickoff at 8 p.m.
