There’s no better way than reinvestment in your hometown to build community and prosperity. To name a few projects in Turners Falls: renovations of the Shea Theater, the High School, Avenue A sidewalks, and construction of a new DPW facility. We have a lot to be proud of. Now, a new home for the library is within reach.
It’s time to move the library out of the Carnegie building. Carnegie is far beyond its lifespan to serve contemporary library and social needs. Thanks to well-managed town financials, an ideal town-owned site, a generous (47%) one-time, “use it or lose it” allotment of funds from the state, and a comprehensive design for needs of young and old visitors, we have a chance to build a new place of connection, for information, culture, history and inspiration, all part of our library’s mission to serve all of us for many years.
