Greenfield Garden Cinema jumped ahead in the second inning in a 25-16 win over Pipione’s Sports Shop in GGSL action at Murphy Park on Wednesday Night.
Greenfield Garden Cinema did not allow a run in the second, pulling ahead 10-5 after the second frame of Ponytail play. Makenna Ward was the winning pitcher in the circle. Ward picked up a strikeout to close out the scoreless second inning.
Penelope Gioules led the offense with with two doubles and a single. Gioules showed some power in her plate appearances. Dani Zraunig also had a nice night at the plate with a double and two singles.
Ward added a hit at the plate. Tayanna N’Dissi also singled for Greenfield Garden Cinema.
For Pipione’s, Savannah Thomas had two singles. Her first inning single brought home two runs for Pipione’s. Grace Hickey pitched effectively in the circle.
Elks Club 1, Franklin First Credit Union 1 — The final game of the season for both Junior Division squads ended in a draw on Wednesday. For Franklin First, Colette Taylor went 1-for-2 and Joanna Burgin made many stops at home plate.
Addison Lambert and Hazel Muise Sheldon went 2-for-3 for Elks Club. Ellie Jones went 3-for-3 and dominated in the circle in her final game in the Junior Division.
Alliance Partners 6, Franklin First Credit Union 0 — Alliance Partners got the win in Junior Division play on June 8. Ava Tenerowicz had four singles and two RBI while Sydney Snape had a single and had a put-out at third. For the Creditors, Nora Lunt had three singles while Clare Cooley pitched well in the fourth inning.
Triton 16, Pipione’s 7 — Clara Behan had 13 strikeouts in the win for Triton on June 8. Tianna Moise-Valdez went 2-for-3 with a triple and a single while Layla Bailey added a pair of singles in the Ponytail matchup. Ella Towne, Grace Hickey, and Savannah Thomas had hits for Pipione’s.
Perspective Learning 4, Pristine Orientals 0 — The Learners downed Pristine on June 8. Ella Kimball had two hits and scored two runs for Perspective. Theresa Barton added an RBI. Carly Chadwick and Amelia Weeden both went 2-for-2 for Pristine.
Descavich 17, Camelot Carpet Cleaners 16 — The Plumbers won the offensive battle against the Cleaners on June 4. Leah Batiste had a triple for Descavich while Ava Martin and Claira Pompilli both added a hit. For Camelot, Marlee Pratt went 2-for-3 with a triple and four RBI. Aaliyah Dowdy went 2-for-2 with a double and four RBI for the Cleaners.
Elks 4, Sandri 3 — Elks got the win in Junior Division play behind the offense of Willow Bettencourt and Freyjah Sigurdsson. Both players went 3-for-3 for the victors. Kallie Cadran flashed the leather for Elks and pitched well in the circle. Bradleigh Barlly and Evelyn Barlly went 3- for-3 for Sandri. Mia Reardon registered a strikeout in the circle.
Descavich 19, Camelot Carper Cleaners 15 — Mia Beckwith had a two-run single in the win for the Plumbers on June 9. Leah Batiste added a two-run single while Ava Martin had two hits for Descavich. Grayson Baker struck out six in the circle. Batiste added three strikeouts in the circle. Batiste finished her day with three hits and five RBI.
For Camelot, Marlee Pratt had a double and a triple, Isabella Bills had a single and Clara VanDoren had a hit and three RBI.
Perspective Learning 3, Freedom Credit Union 2 — The Learners edged the Creditors on June 9. Lily Beckwith registered two hits with an RBI for Perspective Learning. Natalie Belville had the game-winning hit, going 4-for-5 on the day. Hattie Bailey had two hits for Freedom, while Saylor snow added three hits along with an RBI.
Triton Automotive 15, Greenfield Garden Cinema 1 — Tianna Moise-Valdez had two triples and a double in the win for Triton on June 9. Clara Behan added a triple for the victors. Charley Deane struck out six in the circle. For the Moviegoers, Dani Zraunig had a run scored.
Franklin First 6, Elks 1 — The Creditors pulled away in the final inning in the win over the Elks. Olivia Balascvich went 3-for-3 with two RBI. Elsie Neipp and Joanna Burgin both went 2-for-3. Rylie Purinton went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Beckett Crochier played well defensively.

Fitzgerald Real Estate 6, Liberty Tax 5 — Noah Marguet had two hits including a triple in the win for Fitzgerald on Wednesday. On the mound, Marguet struck out 10 hitters. Cameron Santerre had two hits with a double. For Liberty, Blake White had three hits and six strikeouts on the mound. Charlie Tyler added a triple.
Gilmore & Farrell 19, Montague Elks 8 — Blake Miner and Joe Locke each had a double in the win for the Insurers on June 8. Kent Warner and Ben Trombley also hit safely for Gilmore & Farrell. Grady Malone, Colton Rider and Keegan Charboneau all had hits for Montague Elks.
Maniatty’s 10, Gilmore & Farrell 1 — In first round playoff action, Maniatty’s downed the Insurers in Major League play on June 9. Toby Campbell led the way on the mound pitching five innings with 10 strikeouts. Brock Puchalski and Emerson Snow had hits in the win, while Chris Baker added strong defense.
Blake Minor added a hit with a the lone run scored and Kent Warner drove him in for the lone RBI.
Youth Baseball
The U-9 Frontier Country Gentlemen baseball squad made a deep run at the Swanzey Invitational in New Hampshire. The Gents made it to the quarterfinal round before a 17-16 loss to Milford on June 7. Frontier trailed 13-9 going into the top of the sixth before a seven-run comeback to take a 16-13 lead.
The rally started with a hit to right field by Charlie Pepyne followed by hits from Caden Thomas, Owen Sullivan, Brady Place, James Rathbun and Jack Shumway. Benny Place extended the inning with a double to deep right center. Between walks from John Ross and Chipper Hogue, Ryan Tetreault and Mack Waskiewicz each stole home to cap the scoring.
With Milford at the plate and bases loaded in the bottom of the frame, Frontier almost got out of the jam with a double play turned by middle infielders Sullivan and King. Milford put together a rally of their own with fourth runs in the bottom of the sixth to ultimately take the victory.
Finn Bordua, Rathbun and Hogue battled through the full six innings on the mound.

Crumpin Fox Club
Junior Achievement of Western Massachusetts hosted its 28th Annual Golf Tournament on June 5 at Crumpin-Fox Club in Bernardston. Proceeds from the tournament directly funded JAWM programs. The team of Jeff Davenport, Paul Martin, Chris Beaulieu and Will Morris took home first place and $300.

Second place went to Aiden Van Epps, Aaron Van Epps, Ashton Van Epps and Mike Wu ($200). The first place mixed team was Michael Rouette, Adriano Dos Santos, Rob Chateaneuf and Catherine Rioux. Aaron Van Epps and Catherine Rioux won longest drive prizes. Joe Williams (eight feet, five inches) and Lynn Starr won closest to the pin.

Futures Unlimited 75, Crossover Crew 69 (2 OT) — Ben Lewis dropped 24 points in the win for Futures Unlimited. Joe Thomson added 20 points. Jalen Sanders (17 points) and Kurt Redeker (15 points) both reached double-figures for the Crew.
OSC-MANNING 74, Rattigan and Sons 51 — Javon Messiah (14 points) and Brody Fey (12 points) led the way for OSC-MANNING in the win over Rattigan and Sons. Taevaughn Williams had 18 points in the loss, with Lew Borden adding 13 points.
