Monday, Feb. 23

10:35 a.m. — Threat reported at Carquest on Federal Street. Involved party reportedly told the store manager over the phone that he needed a refund for auto parts or it would be a “bad day for everyone in there.” Manager was advised on the process to get a no-trespass order and was advised to call 911 if the individual returns.

10:12 p.m. — Traffic stop at Federal and Pond streets. Taylor Spelman, 35, of Main Street in Montague, was arrested on charges of possession of a Class A drug, possession of a Class B drug and failure to stop/yield.

Tuesday, Feb. 24

8:15 a.m. — Caller from Leyden Road reports a gray sedan pulled up and an occupant took her trash bag and put it in their trunk. Party was advised it is not a crime to collect roadside recyclables. Caller requested an officer patrol the area of Leyden Road.

9:46 a.m. — Caller from Birch Street wanted to inquire about what she should do if her neighbor has been shoveling snow against her fence. Party was advised to have a conversation with the neighbor and request the snow be put somewhere else. Party was advised to call police in the event any issues surface.

5:24 p.m. — Officer attempting to serve a warrant on Main Street. Alexander Vladimir Petroulas, 29, of Avenue A in Turners Falls, was arrested on a warrant.

Wednesday, Feb. 25

6:37 a.m. — Report of an unwanted person at Baystate Franklin Medical Center on High Street. Male party will not leave. Staff say he isn’t doing anything other than laying on a stretcher by the nurses station. Party was provided a courtesy transport to 1 Arch Place.

7:52 a.m. — Report of breaking and entering into a vehicle on West Street. Vehicle was entered at 1:15 a.m. Phone and cash were taken.

5:14 p.m. — Caller on East Cleveland Street called to say someone is peeling off the city trash stickers from her curbside trash bags. No answer upon callback, unable to leave a voicemail.

Thursday, Feb. 26

1:10 a.m. — Officer attempting to serve a warrant on Harrison Avenue. Alex Zabnicki, 32, of Harrison Avenue in Greenfield, was arrested on a warrant.

5:45 a.m. — Caller reports a lot of water is running down Bank Row. Department of Public Works advised. Closing Bank Row for DPW to work.

7:51 a.m. — Caller reports water is coming up through the sidewalk on School Street. Department of Public Works advised.

1:34 p.m. — Reporting party on Juniper Court states he has been receiving death threats and pictures of severed heads from a phone number unknown to him. Reporting party was advised to block the number.

4:16 p.m. — Report of a coach-type bus, brown and yellow in color, in traffic with its luggage compartment open. Caller was concerned for the safety of other motorists. Unsure what direction it went from the bridge at Deerfield and Cheapside streets. Unable to locate. Checked Deerfield and Cheapside streets. Officers located a Link413 bus, but all compartments were closed.

4:52 p.m. — Reporting party reporting a traffic hazard on Newton Street at the Golden Nozzle Car Wash. Vehicles are blocking traffic, and drivers are honking and yelling at everyone. Reporting party reports this happens frequently and she feels the company should have a protocol in place to prevent it.

Friday, Feb. 27

1:50 a.m. — Trespassing reported at Cumberland Farms on Federal Street. Coleton R. Elliot, 29, of Greenfield, was arrested on a charge of trespassing.

10:09 a.m. — Past suspicious activity reported at the Reed building on Franklin Street. Someone tried to build a fire against the building. Unsure if it was just someone trying to stay warm or if they were trying to burn the building down. Fire Department on scene with police to investigate.

2:15 p.m. — Employee at the Hens & Chicks consignment store on Main Street reports receiving a suspicious call from a male party with a southern accent soliciting money for the Greenfield Police Association. Officer advised that a fundraising drive is underway, however, the caller isn’t a male with a southern accent.

Saturday, Feb. 28

10:17 a.m. — Caller from Shelburne Road states their neighbor let his eight chickens and a rooster out to roam the neighborhood. Wants to talk to someone. Caller was provided the number for the animal control officer.

2:56 p.m. — Reporting party reporting fraud on their Life360 account. Account seems like it was hacked. Party was advised to contact Life360 customer service to cancel her account.

Sunday, March 1

12:15 p.m. — U-Haul struck the Arch Street bridge. Railroad inspector requested to check the bridge. No apparent damage. Citation issued. Driver declined medical transport. Vehicle towed.

9:40 p.m. — Reporting party from Dollar General on Federal Street states the store just had a large theft. Caller reports people came into the store, filled bags full of stuff and shoved him before running out of the store and leaving with the car door open. Reporting party was able to get the license plate number. Be-on-the-lookout order issued.
