Greenfield, MA – Patricia M. (Kelsey) Babits passed away on January 23, 2026. She was the daughter of Marie and Gerald Kelsey, born December 13, 1953 in Brattleboro, Vermont. Pat graduated from Turners Falls High School in 1971.
Married to Donald Babits on June 2, 1973, they enjoyed 52 years of marriage. They have 3 children, Nicole (Chris), Kevin and Andrew (Erin) and six grandchildren, Tyler, Tucker, Emlen, Zayden, Sabrina, and Tyler H. Pat also has two brothers, James (Paula) and Michael (Jane). She was predeceased by her mother, father and brother David.
Her working career started with Mel-An store, Food Mart and then CVS. There she was a pharmacy tech, photo manager and then assistant store manager.
Pat had many interests through the years. When her children were young, she was a school volunteer as well as working with children at 4H. Pat also helped with a local Girl Scout troop for several years. She enjoyed scrapbooking, photography, stamping and working on her family tree. One of her favorite pastimes, was completing puzzles with Sabrina and Zayden that she found at puzzle swaps in Northfield.
Later Pat enjoyed tropical fish, building and decorating miniature dollhouses, diamond art and Legos. For many years Pat and her husband enjoyed vacationing at Lake Winnipesaukee.
Funeral services will be observed on Friday, January 30, 2026 at 11:00AM, at the McCarthy Funeral Homes, 36 Bank Row, Greenfield, MA, with an Episcopal Rite of Burial Service to be observed. Rites of committal and interment, will follow in Green River Cemetery, 56 Wisdom Way, Greenfield, MA. Visiting hours will be observed on Thursday evening, January 29th, 2026 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at the McCarthy Funeral Homes, Greenfield, MA In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Pat’s memory, to Shriners Children’s Hospital. 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104
