South Deerfield, MA – Theresa Diane Swist (Pielock) passed away at Baystate Medical Center Springfield on Friday, November 28,2025. She was 89 years old. She was born in Whately, MA on September 19,1936. The daughter of Alice Bogdan and Charles Pielock. She married Rudolph Swist in 1957. They were married for 59 years. She was predeceased by her siblings, Harriet Rutkowski, Marion Shuzdak, and Charles Pielock. She leaves her daughters Sharon Smith (Mark) and Jacqueline Shaw (Charlie), her granddaughter Megan Kradas her partner Luci Tarquinio and her greatgrandson Nico, and her grandson Joseph Johnson.
She graduated from Deerfield High School in 1954. She started her working career at Berkshire Cable Company in Northampton and then was an at home mom before getting a job at the UMASS Bookstore where she worked there until her retirement. Theresa enjoyed having family barbeques and attending Polish dances, going to the casino, and traveling. She loved the Boston Red Sox and vacationing in Cape Cod.
There will be a wake at Wrisley's Funeral Home in South Deerfield from 11-1pm on Wednesday, December 10,2025 with an In-House Service starting at 1pm. She will have a private burial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Shriner's Children Hospital, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA.
