The Athol Area YMCA has a DEKA STRONG fitness competition coming to Orange on July 18. Created by Spartan, DEKA is a popular format that tests strength, endurance, power and overall conditioning.
“Bringing DEKA STRONG to Orange reflects our commitment to providing innovative health and wellness opportunities for our community,” said Liz Day, Healthy Living Director at the Athol Area YMCA. “We’re excited to offer local residents access to a world-class fitness event without having to travel to larger cities. Whether someone is a competitive athlete or simply looking for a personal challenge, DEKA creates an opportunity to participate, grow and succeed.”
The format does not include running. Athletes have the opportunity to compete individually or as a two-person team. There is also the Ruck Division (weighted). Registration is open with limited participant spots are still available. The event begins at 8 a.m. in Orange. Athletes can register here.
