12:42 p.m. — Walk-in to the station would like to speak to an officer regarding a scam/potential fraud. Reporting party states she received a phone call stating someone was buying an iPhone on her behalf, then reported the same number was accusing her of stealing more than $900,000. Officer advised.

Tuesday, Oct. 28

7:05 a.m. — Reporting party on Turnpike Road would like someone to check on his neighbor as his truck has been running since 9 p.m. last night. Referred to an officer.

Wednesday, Oct. 29

12:04 a.m. — Caller reports the lights at the Third Street laundromat are shut off and they usually are not. Officer advises a sign on the door states it closes at 10 p.m. Door is locked.

8:55 a.m. — Caller on Chestnut Street reports a big dog in the apartment upstairs has been barking for approximately three days and sounds like it is starting to lose its voice. Voicemail left for the animal control officer, who called back stating the upstairs neighbors are babysitting a dog with separation anxiety. The dog is healthy and happy.

5:30 p.m. — Caller from Canal Street reports kids are having a fire in the parking lot. Referred to an officer.

Thursday, Oct. 30

7:09 a.m. — Reporting party states a vehicle passed her at a very high rate of speed, estimating 80 mph, near Federal Street heading north. Officer advised.

10:53 a.m. — Reporting party on Swamp Road states she has received scam calls for the past three days. One call was at 4 a.m. Multiple calls from different numbers, leaving the same message about selling her house and needing to sign paperwork. Reporting party states she would like an officer to try the number and tell them to stop calling her. An officer called the number and it was a scam automated message.

Friday, Oct. 31

11:58 a.m. — Walk-in to the station claims someone is taking checks out of the mail and cashing them. Third time this has occurred. An officer gave the reporting party a statement form to fill out and bring back to the station.

6:26 p.m. — Reporting party reports a Domino’s driver with Vermont license plates almost hit a bunch of children near Hillcrest Elementary School on Griswold Street. The vehicle, possibly a Subaru, was headed toward the Public Safety Complex. Officer out with vehicle. No signs of impairment. Driver was confused due to traffic from trick-or-treating. Driver went around a vehicle and was yelled at.

9:46 p.m. — Reporting party at the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Regional Dog Shelter on Sandy Lane states it sounded like the roof was collapsing in the back area where dogs are located. Officer checked the area. Officer advising there is loose tin and other scraps all over, but everything else seems structurally sound.

Saturday, Nov. 1

11:18 p.m. — Massachusetts Environmental Police requesting an officer check their building on Turners Falls Road as an alarm activated for the back door. Officer advising building is secure.

Sunday, Nov. 2

12:50 a.m. — Officer out moving a bear along on Montague City Road. Bear took off into the woods.

Monday, Nov. 3

5:03 p.m. — Reporting party on L Street states there is a fox walking on the sidewalk and there are a lot of people there for the food distribution. Animal control officer advised.

7:35 p.m. — Reporting party states there is an unknown truck in the driveway at El Nopalito Mexican Restaurant and Pizzeria on Turners Falls Road and it looks like they are going to take one of the vehicles. Party was found to be dropping off firewood.

Tuesday, Nov. 4

3:28 p.m. — Walk-in to the station would like to report identity theft. Reporting party was advised to bring some documents so a report can be filed.

Wednesday, Nov. 5

3:02 p.m. — Female party accidently pushed the button in the elevator at Moltenbrey Apartments on Avenue A. No need for police response.

Thursday, Nov. 6

9:24 a.m. — Caller on Turners Falls Road states she is afraid a male party who used to work for her is going to steal items from her property. Caller was advised of options.

12:21 p.m. — Walk-in to the station from L Street is looking to file a police report after money was taken from her bank account. Report taken.

7:20 p.m. — Caller on Turners Falls Road reporting a vehicle with no taillights. Dark-colored Subaru with Massachusetts license plates. Officer advised.

Friday, Nov. 7

9:21 a.m. — Reporting party on George Avenue states someone struck a fire hydrant and ripped it out of the ground. Turners Falls Water Department notified.

2:42 p.m. — Caller on 11th Street states he is cleaning the front room of the house and noticed someone lifted the screen on the window and there are fingerprints on the window. States the window is dirty so it’s a good set of prints for identification. Officer advised.

Saturday, Nov. 8

7:19 a.m. — Walk-in to the station would like to speak to an officer to report bank fraud. Female party was advised of options.

3:20 p.m. — Reporting party outside The Upper Bend on Avenue A can’t unlock his bike and would like an officer’s assistance. Unable to gain access to the bike. Reporting party will call a locksmith for further assistance.

Sunday, Nov. 9

10:12 p.m. — Caller on Sunderland Road states a car pulled in his driveway and he went outside to assist the occupants with changing a flat tire. Caller wanted to report the incident in case there was a crash. Vehicle occupants told him they slid in the rain and hit a guardrail because the vehicle’s tires are bald. Report taken.

Monday, Nov. 10

9:18 a.m. — Caller is concerned about a silver vehicle in the Fourth Street alley. People inside are reportedly smoking something. Vehicle located, occupants advised of the complaint.

Tuesday, Nov. 11

11:14 a.m. — Traffic stop on Lake Pleasant Road. Chelsea French, 35, of West Mineral Road in Millers Falls, was arrested on charges of driving at a rate of speed exceeding the posted limit, improper operation of a motor vehicle, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and OUI-liquor over .08. Tow requested for vehicle. Dog in the vehicle to be picked up by a friend. Bail set at $100. Bail posted.

Wednesday, Nov. 12

9:07 a.m. — Casella employee would like it on record that a Bridge Street resident came out and started yelling at him because he did not pick up her garbage. He left a sticker on it last week stating they could not pick it up because the barrel is full of water. This week, the barrel is still full of water.

10:18 a.m. — Caller on Millers Falls Road states there is a fox that looks injured and mangy. Animal control officer notified. Unable to locate. Another neighbor called later to say the fox was at the house across the street. Animal control officer notified.

1:37 p.m. — Employee at Element Brewing & Distilling on Bridge Street would like an officer to respond to make a report after a delivery truck scraped the side of their building. A. Duie Pyle was making a delivery and, during the process of backing in or pulling out of the dock, the cement was scuffed. No structural damage caused. A. Duie Pyle also requested documentation of the incident due to policy.

Thursday, Nov. 13

5:17 p.m. — Caller in the area of Food City reports witnessing a vehicle crash into a guardrail and cross the center line several times. Officer located vehicle and took pictures of the damage. Involved female called stating the neighbor told her police were taking photos of her truck and she wants to know why. Referred to an officer.

Friday, Nov. 14

11:11 a.m. — Reporting party on Morris Avenue is requesting the Fire Department evaluate a smoking heating stove. Call transferred to Shelburne Control Dispatch Center.

Saturday, Nov. 15

11:01 a.m. — Caller on Third Street believes his oven is malfunctioning. Call transferred to Shelburne Control Dispatch Center.

6:18 p.m. — Walk-in to the station brought a dog that was found at Unity Park. No tags but does have a harness and leash. Believed to be a bullmastiff. Dog taken to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Regional Dog Shelter.

Sunday, Nov. 16

9:47 a.m. — Caller at Third and Canal streets reports the car he is in just got hit by another car and both vehicles are heavily damaged. No injuries reported. Fluids in the road. Officer requesting EMS for medical evaluations due to hard impact. Tows requested for both vehicles. Report taken.
