Grayson Thomas dropped 42 points for Greenfield in a 69-62 overtime win over Narragansett in the DRIVE League championship game on Sunday, Nov. 16 at Stoneleigh Burnham.

Connor Bergeron added 16 points for Greenfield.

Max Kaufman scored 33 points, while Joe Dennis chipped in with 11 points for Narragansett.

There were a series of consolation games as well. In the third and fourth place game, Hadley defeated Hampshire, 45-33. Chase Earle (nine points) and Harry West (eight points) led the way for Hadley. Vynce Carr dropped 11 points for Hampshire.

Battling for fifth place, Easthampton outlasted Smith Vocational, 48-44. Patrick Larson netted 11 points for Easthampton with Chase Canon-Smith adding eight points. For Smith Voc, Dominic Yarez dropped 16 points. Kevin Matuzko chipped in with eight points.

Brattleboro defeated Mohawk, 67-49, in the seventh place game. Dawson Wheeler scored 26 points for Brattleboro. Hudson Smith netted 16 points for Brattleboro. Lobsang Rabten scored 22 points for Mohawk, with Malcolm Briggs adding eight points.

Touch Football

No. 2 Gill CC Woodworking 7, No. 3 Tar Heels 6 – Gill quarterback Pat Viencek entered the fourth quarter trailing, 6-0. Previously, Tar Heels’ quarterback Curtis Dowers found Calvin Dowers for a 14-yard touchdown late in the third quarter.

With less than six minutes to play, wideout Jalen Sanders finally broke free for a touchdown from Viencek. Sanders then caught the game-winning conversions to send the defending champions back to the Super Bowl.

Sanders also had a pivotal interception on defense. Gill’s defensive line consisting of Derek Hellie, Tyson Dowdy, JD Dinnall, and Tavist Rodriguez combined for five sacks.

No. 4 Dope Boys 6, No. 1 Sirum 0 – The Dope Boys pulled off the upset to reach the Super Bowl. The game was deadlocked through three quarters.

Marquis Goon found Kayshawn Brantley for a 19-yard completion to set up the Dope Boys for a potential go-ahead touchdown. Gio Gonzalez caught the eventual game-winning touchdown for the Dope Boys.

Sirum quarterback Parker Hickey rushed for 60 yards and threw for 125. Brody Markol, Chucky St. Hillaire, Max Williams and Steve Duclos combined for six sacks.

The league’s 38th Super Bowl is back at Green River Park this Sunday between No. 2 Gill CC Woodworking and the No. 4 Dope Boys, with kickoff set for 10:30 a.m.

Shelbourne Falls Bowling Alley

Here are the high scores from last week from Shelbourne Falls.

Scott Doubles, Scott Schneider and Kendall Schneider rolled a 122 in high single and a 326 in high triple.

In Monday Mixed League action, Jen Tobey rolled a 95 in a high single and a 276 in high triple. Chris LaFreniere carded a 126 in high single and a 323 in high triple.

In results from Tuesday’s Mixed League, Nancy Purington rolled a 95 in high single and a 262 in high triple. Steve St. Pierre carded a 106 in high single and a 271 in high triple. From Wednesday’s Mixed League, Marilyn Wilson rolled a 96 in high single, while Karen Herzog scored a 278 in high triple.

Greenfield Elks Pitch League

From Wednesday, Nov. 12 at the Greenfield Elks Club, leaders through week six are as follows.

There is a tie for first place between Roxanne Goulet and Doug Houle with 21 points. John Richardson, Buzzy Blanchard and Jim Elwell are deadlocked in second place with 20 points. Todd Goulet is in third place with 19 points.
