The Greenfield United Soccer Club wrapped up a successful fall season over the weekend. The under-12 team finished their season with a division championship in the Roots Soccer League. The team netted 41 goals and recorded 57 saves.
The clubs two under-10 teams also recorded successful seasons. The Kraken under-10 lost only one league game all year and amassed 72 goals and 80 saves in net.

The under-9 teams combined for 45 goals on the season and celebrated two wins at Center School in Greenfield. The Rookie Soccer Group (ages 5-7) welcomed 20 players.
“We’re incredibly proud of all our players, coaches, and families for the effort and energy they brought to this season,” Erich Leaper, President of Greenfield United, said in a press release. “Soccer is such a community dependent and community driven sport. Our soccer community continues to grow, with the increased level of excitement and
participation that we’re seeing at every age level. We hope to continue this growth and progress even more next season, as we always hope to represent the people of Greenfield with pride.”

Field Hockey
The Pioneer Valley Interscholastic Athletic Conference released its Western Mass. All-League Selections on Monday, with Franklin County well represented.
The All-Stars are voted on by coaches and athletic directors.
From the Suburban League, Frontier Regional had four representatives. Addie Harrington, Macy DeMaio, Amelia Bouchard and Ashlie Galenski all made the list. Also selected from Greenfield were Grace Laurie and Henley Gilstrap.
Franklin Tech had multiple players included from the County League including Kailey Steiner, Redyn Gutierrez, Abigail Dobias and Nora Cutting. Mohawk had three representatives in Cammie Thompson, Cleome Gardner and Heidi Helenek. For Mahar Regional, Kathryn McGinnis and Nevaeh Woods were selected. Turners Falls had two players make the list in Ella Larouche and Khalifa Sack.
Franklin County Hockey Association
The Franklin County under-12 White hockey team dropped a pair of peewee games at Collins-Moylan Arena on Nov. 8 and Nov. 9. FCHA lost, 6-1, to Holy Name Hanson with a goal from Hunter Wilkins on an assist from Zack Da Silva. FCHA also dropped a close contest to Amherst, 3-2. Brody Suhl scored twice with assists coming from Jacoby Houle and George Bodzinski.
Greenfield Elks Pitch League
Leaders after matches played on Nov. 5. In first place, Roxanne Goulet led with 18 points. In second place there was a four-way tie between Todd Goulet, John Richardson, Mike Koncal and Doug Houle who all have 17 points. In third place with 16 points was Buzzy Blanchard, Luigi Pederzini, Joe Ruggeri and Jim Elwell.
