The Stoneleigh-Burnham girls volleyball team acquired some new championship hardware after a 3-1 win over Mount St. Charles on Nov. 7 at home. The victory secured the Southeastern New England Independent Schools Athletic Association championship for Stoneleigh-Burnham.

The Owls finished their regular season 5-1. They had the best record in the league which secured the top-seed in the SENEISAA playoffs. Stoneleigh-Burnham’s one loss came in its season opener.

Stoneleigh-Burnham moves on to the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) Girl’s Volleyball Championships in the Class D bracket. The Owls are the eight-seed and will face off against top-seeded Christian Heritage School on the road Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.

FCHA

The Franklin County Hockey Association announced the start of its Learn to Play Hockey program. The program began on Nov. 8. Sessions will run on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the hockey season. The program helps young athletes build skills and confidence in a fun and supportive environment.

The FCHA Learn to Skate program begins on Dec. 6. Registration is still open for both programs. More information can be found on www.FCHA.org.

Shelbourne Falls Bowling Alley

The following are scores from last week. In Sunday Scotch Doubles, Scott Schneider and Kendall Schneider rolled a 113 in high single. In high triple, the same duo rolled a 306.

In Monday Mixed League action, Jen Tobey scored a 101 in high single and a 274 in high triple. Chris LaFreniere rolled a 126 in high single and a 349 in high triple. On Tuesday’s Mixed League, Mindy Goodin rolled a 92 in high single and a 239 in high triple. Brandon Lively rolled a 110 in high single. Lively and Steve St. Pierre both carded a 287 in high triple.

In Wednesday Mixed League results, Jill Jablonsky rolled a 99 in high single while Karen Herzog carded a 271 in high triple.
