Oct. 23: Shane Alexander to perform at Mocha Maya’s
SHELBURNE FALLS — Residents can enjoy a performance by Los Angeles-based solo artist Shane Alexander at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 23, at Mocha Maya’s, located at 47 Bridge St.
Alexander, who performs indie folk and acoustic rock, has toured internationally and has had his music featured in dozens of films and television shows.

Climate plays rescheduled
SHELBURNE FALLS — The West County Climate Circle has rescheduled its series of short plays on the impacts of climate change to Nov. 2 and Nov. 22.
The West County Climate Circle had planned to present 12 five-minute plays on Oct. 13, but had to cancel due to rain. The short plays were written by playwrights from around the world, exploring what climate change looks like in their communities.
On Sunday, Nov. 2, performances will begin at the pocket park located at the corner of Bridge Street and Deerfield Avenue at 1 p.m. Then on Saturday, Nov. 22, the performance will be held at 7 p.m. at the Shelburne Falls Theater at Memorial Hall.
Shows are free to attend, but donations will be accepted on Nov. 22 to support The Art Garden.
Arms Library elevator replacement bid awarded to Diversified Construction Services
SHELBURNE — The Shelburne Selectboard has awarded a $118,000 contract to Diversified Construction Services LLC to replace the elevator at the Arms Library.
Town Administrator Terry Narkewicz said the company was the sole bidder for the project, which will be paid for using Community Preservation Act funding and a town match that was approved by Annual Town Meeting voters last spring.
