The International Association for Approved Basketball Officials (IAABO) Board 28 has opened its recruitment and is looking for new candidates serving Franklin and Hampshire Counties for girls and boys basketball this winter.
The IAABO uses an online tool called “IAABO University” for the rules portion of the training and certification of all new candidates. All candidates who successfully complete the training and pass the online test will be eligible to participate a number of floor training sessions. Those will be held at Smith Academy on Oct. 29, Nov. 5, Nov. 12 and Nov. 19 from 7-9:30 p.m.

Pioneer looking to fill coaching vacancies
Athletic Director Nick Adams and the Pioneer administration are looking to fill a trio of coaching vacancies, as the Panthers are in need of head coaches for their boys varsity basketball team, boys junior varsity basketball team and indoor track and field.

Shelburne Falls Bowling Alley
Results for this past week’s Shelburne Falls Bowling Alley leagues are in. Starting with Sunday Scotch Doubles, Nick Brown and Robby Wood posted the high single score of 108, while Scott Schneider and Kendall Schneider recorded the high triple score of 302.
In Monday’s Mixed League, the women’s high single went to Tera Tippett (111) while the high triple went to Missy Finn (275). On the men’s side, it was Ed Skorupski earning the high single (107) and Randy Heminger turning in the high triple (284).
We’ll start Tuesday’s Mixed League scores with the women’s high single, which belonged to Willi Morse and Mindy Goodin (94). The high triple was claimed by Nancy Purington (255). For the men, Roger Purington grabbed the high single score with an 103, and Paul Cohen took home the high triple score with a 268.
On Wednesday, the Mixed League women’s high single belonged to Cherie Semanie, as did the women’s high triple. She posted a 104 and 282, respectively. John Eicholz claimed both the men’s high single and men’s high triple as well, turning in a 117 and 309, respectively.
Thursday’s Mixed League men’s high single winner was Matt Gilbert (126), and the high triple winner was Scott Schneider (346). Colleen Barrows swept the women’s high single and women’s high triple. Her high single score was 114 and high triple score was 312.
