The Frontier boys and girls cross country teams raced past Granby and Mahar at Dufresne Park in Granby on Tuesday.

The Redhawks totaled three wins altogether in the meet, plus had the top finishers in each 3.1 mile race.

Evan Hedlund took first in the boys race for Frontier, finishing in 19 minutes, 52 seconds, while Louise Flagollet crossed the finish line first for the Redhawks in 23:43 in the girls race.

The boys beat the Senators by a score of 15-48 and the Rams, 18-45. The girls only raced against Granby and won, 19-40.

Luke Howard (19:52), Adam Paul (20:32), Dean Gray (20:35) and Caleb Libbey (22:21) also picked up points for the Frontier boys as top-six finishers.

On the girls side, the Redhawks’ Liv Christensen (23:45), Maia Christensen (24:32), Phoebe Radner (24:33) and Maddie Antes (25:33) raced well behind Flagollet.

The Rams were powered by a pair of third-place finishes. Colby Carleton concluded the boys 5k in 20:23, while Addie Hill’s time came in at 23:50.

Grace Cooney (24:40), Rowan Cook (26:30), Adelyn Zimmer (27:15) and Lucy Camp (28:45) rounded out the host’s top five girls placers.

The Granby boys narrowly lost to Mahar by a score of 25-32.

Boys soccer

Hopkins 2, Athol 1 — Two points from Drew Crutch (goal, assist) helped the Golden Hawks take the win.

James Anderson (goal) and Owen Cain (assist) also tallied points for Hopkins. Karim Thompson scored for the Bears.

Hawks goalie Matt Feltovic recorded seven saves while Athol keeper Drake Wing totaled nine stops.

Turners 7, Greenfield 1 — The Thunder rolled past the Green Wave in the lopsided result.

Yolvin Ovalle (two), Noah Kolodziej, Rojelio Galvan Martin, John Ramirez, Moises Borrayes and Kevin Perez Cueto made up Turners’ goalscorers.

Jackson Laurie netted Greenfield’s goal.

Franklin Tech 4, Pioneer 1 — The Eagles won its first game since Sept. 18 after defeating the Panthers at home.

Cody Yetter, Josiah Muiz and Nate Gheorghita (two) scored for Tech, while Judah Glenn was Pioneer’s lone goalscorer.

“It is just nice for us to get back to playing our style of soccer and getting back into the win column,” Eagles head coach Daniel Prasol said. “But the season is far from over.”

Girls soccer

Mahar 0, Ware 0 — Mackenzie Matthews was perfect for the Senators in goal, stopping all seven shots in the draw

Golf

Smith Voc 172, Pioneer 183 — Pat Dabrowski was the only golfer to break 40 in the Vikings win against the Panthers at Wyckoff Country Club.

Dabrowski shot a three-over 37 to earn medalist honors for Smith Voc. Keller McMahon (43), Andrew Persaud (45) and Jayson Clark (47) aided the Vikings to the victory.

Carter Gerry (42), Tucker Aldrich (43) and Chayton Massa (49) scored for Pioneer.

Westfield Tech 168, Mohawk 192 — Three Warriors golfers broke 50, but they still fell at Greenfield Country Club.

Connor Bergeron (45), Gus Foote (46) and Sam Mizula (47) were Mohawk’s top three golfers in the match. Jacob Richardson shot a 54 as the Warriors fourth scorer.

Athol 165, Franklin Tech 176, Hopkins 175, Turners 186 — Braden Talbot shot the low round of 38 to lead the Eagles in Tuesday’s quad-meet at Thomas Memorial Golf Course.

Dominik St. Andre was best for the Bears (39), Ethan Eichorn powered the Thunder (40) and Ryley Regan and Aiden Keeling-Lococo (40) tied as the Golden Hawks’ leaders.

Volleyball

Turners 3, Greenfield 0 — Janelle Massey and Maddie Dietz drove the Thunder to the sweep against the Green Wave.

Massey had five aces, 14 kills and five digs while Dietz deposited two aces, two kills, three digs and nine assists.

Granby 3, Athol 2 — The Bears lost a long, five-set match to the Rams tocome up short for the third straight match.

Maddie Desrosiers played well for Athol, contributing a team-high eight kills.

Set scores finished at 25-15, 16-25, 25-21, 16-25 and 15-17.

SICS 3, Mahar 2 — The Senators let a 2-0 set lead slip away in the road loss.

Mahar won the first two sets by scores of 25-22 and 27-25, before dropping the critical third set 25-27, which wound up flipping the momentum.

The final two sets came in at 16-25 and 8-15.

Madelynn Burgess (five digs, nine kills, three assists, six aces) and Mckenzie Scribner (dig, four aces, 12 assists) put together strong performances for the Senators.

Franklin Tech 3, Pioneer 1 — The Eagles soared to victory after winning three straight sets.

The Panthers pounced early, winning the first set 27-25, however Tech recovered as it rattled off set score wins of 25-9, 25-11 and 26-24.

Lily Baldwin (four aces, two kills, seven digs,18 assists) was active for the Eagles while Sophia wood (kill, three blocks, seven digs, 16 assists) paced Pioneer.

Frontier 5, Chicopee Comp 0 — Gus Radner and Grayden Gifford each nabbed a goal and an assist to guide the Redhawks in the shutout.

Frontier goalie Jack Cusson made four saves.

Volleyball

Agawam 3, Frontier 0 — The Redhawks fell for the second straight match in the road loss.

Caitlin Maio managed 14 digs for Frontier.
