Parenting program starting at The Brick House
TURNERS FALLS — The Brick House Community Resource Center at 24 Third St. will start an evidence-based parenting program for parents and caregivers of preschool-age children through age 8, beginning Wednesday, Sept. 24.
This program will help give solutions to challenging behaviors in children. The program runs from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesdays through Oct. 29.

Pancake breakfast and bake sale set for Sept. 27
MONTAGUE CENTER — A pancake breakfast and bake sale will be held at the First Congregational Church of Montague, 4 North St., on Saturday, Sept. 27, at 8:15 a.m.
Pancakes will be served with fruit sauce and maple syrup. Coffee, tea and juice will also be served. Breakfast is $10. Baked goods, including bread, cookies and muffins, will also be available for purchase. Proceeds benefit the church.
Farley String Band to perform at Greenfield Savings Bank
TURNERS FALLS — The Farley String Band will play in the lobby of the Greenfield Savings Bank branch at 282 Avenue A from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27.
The 10-piece band will play traditional folk and fiddle music. Light refreshments will be served by Greenfield Savings Bank.
Prayer group registration now open
TURNERS FALLS — A weekly prayer group is beginning at Our Lady of Peace Church starting Wednesday, Oct. 1, from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. Registration is open until Sept. 25.
The group will be led by Joe Toritto, who taught theology at Catholic colleges and high schools for the last four decades. He directs the Eventide Singers, a hospice choir based in Greenfield, and leads Taizé prayer services in the Pioneer Valley.
Participants will use the daily lectionary “Give Us This Day.” Attendees will sing, meditate and share the role of God in their lives. Contact Marguerite Noga at 413-863-5397 by Sept. 25 to pick up the lectionary.
Bal folk jam session returns to Discovery Center
TURNERS FALLS — An informal group of musicians will gather to play traditional bal folk music, found in France and Brittany, at the Great Falls Discovery Center, 2 Avenue A, on Sunday, Sept. 28, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.
