GREENFIELD โ€” Four years after Mpress Bennu launched Moving Mountains Media, the event planning and production company has opened its first brick-and-mortar office space.

The company, dubbed on its website as a “one-stop co-op for any event,” now occupies Suites 1 and 3 of the 91 Main St. Mohawk Mall, two roughly 25-square-foot spaces. While the first is a standard office space where Bennu said she can greet clients and community members, the second room is equipped with two Audio-Technica turntables, desktop computers and other pieces of equipment she said would be used to produce music and pursue other creative endeavors.

“I was doing a lot of the creativity out of my home office, which was my living room, so I’m happy to have my living room back,” Bennu said. “This has been a dream of mine since I started four years ago. I’ve always wanted to expand to my own brick-and-mortar location.”

Bennu said she hopes to use the site not only as a meeting place for community members hoping to organize an event or promote an artist, but also, in a broader sense, use it as a place for members of the community to connect and network. She said she hopes to host workshops aimed at empowering members of the community.

“I do want to have my own market as a music producer, so I want to sign a lot of independent artists who otherwise can’t get signed or don’t have the money to get signed,” she explained during a tour of the new space last week. “Because we’re growing together and we’re moving together, I think there’s a great potential for … cutting records, mixing, marketing, recording.”

Moving Mountains Media currently operates as a media consultant, event planning and production company, radio and television host, and public speaking resource. Bennu noted that in the future, she hopes to also launch a clothing line and a beauty product line.

She added that Moving Mountains Media, in addition to working to help other businesses market and grow, aims to employ those who might otherwise have trouble finding work.

“I believe everybody has a gift, everybody has a talent, everybody has something to give. Whether it’s blowing up a balloon, setting a table โ€” those are the people I want working for me,” she said. “The whole motivation behind this project has always been empowerment, community, so this is the next step up.”
