Barbara Ann Wolfram
South Deerfield, MA – Barbara Ann (Parker) Wolfram, 91 of South
Deerfield MA, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2025 at The Fisher
Home in Amherst, MA. Barbara was born January 27, 1934 in Conway MA to
John and Gladys Parker. Barbara grew up in Conway and graduated from
Arms Academy in Shelburne Falls.
In the early 1950’s Barbara worked retail for Wilson’s Department
Store in Greenfield, MA and even did some modeling for them. Barbara
then worked as a secretary for Millers Falls Tool until marrying
William L. Wolfram. The couple moved to San Diego, CA for her
husband’s military duty where she enjoyed working at the local diner
located at the top of Mt. Luguna where they lived. Barbara and Bill to
Syracuse NY, raising their two sons while he managed a Fanny Farmer
Candy Store. In 1975 the family moved back to MA, residing in South
Deerfield where she and son Bill ran Wolfie’s Restaurant. They enjoyed
running the restaurant together for nearly 40 years. Barbara worked in
all areas of the establishment. But was best known for her homemade
pies.
Barbara was a beloved member of the community. She was very active
with the South Deerfield Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary, including
making apple pies with the group and fire department members for their
well-known fundraiser. Barbara loved spending time with friends, often
traveling to Florida with long-time friend, Edward Lareau. Barbara was
also fond of bird watching, flower arranging and making an occasional
trip to the casino with dear friend, Arlene Patton.
Barbara is survived by son Mark Wolfram of Ashfield, MA, grandson Kyle
Wolfram, along with his wife Ashlee of Methuen, MA, son William
Wolfram, along with his wife Kristine, and step-grandchildren; Gus,
Leo, and JoJo Musante and long-time friend, Edward Lareau of Conway,
MA.
Barbara’s late brother Jack Parker’s wife, Roxeen Parker traveled from
Florida to be Barbara’s live-in caregiver and so much more. Steven
Rogalski, and Arlene Patton, provided companionship, home-cooked meals
and often drove her to Boston where they stayed over while she
received treatments.
Barbara also leaves her aunt, Cheryl Ingersoll as well as her nieces
and nephews. Barbara will be remembered for her quiet strength, sharp
sense of humor, and an uncanny ability to provide perfect advice. She
will remain in our hearts always and forever.
There will be a private service with family and friends. In lieu of
flowers, the family suggests a donation to Hospice of the Fisher Home
of Amherst, MA
