Aug. 16: Storyland Ball at Fairy House Day

TURNERS FALLS — The Storyland Ball at Fairy House Day returns to Avenue A this weekend on Saturday, Aug. 16, at 2 p.m.

The event, presented by Looky Here and Lovelights, will start with a bike parade from LOOT found + made, located at 62 Avenue A, to Peskeompskut Park, which is at the corner of Avenue A and Seventh Street. At 3 p.m., there will be a picnic and butterfly release, followed by the storyland ball at 4 p.m.

Guests are encouraged to dress up in their best whimsical costumes. The rain date is Sunday, Aug. 17.

Sunflower maze opening for families

MONTAGUE — The sunflower maze at Our Family Legacy Farm, 442 Turners Falls Road, will be open on Saturday, Aug. 16, and Sunday, Aug. 17, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The maze costs $10 for adults and $5 for children. Children ages 5 and under enter for free.

Feedback sought to guide Cultural Council priorities

MONTAGUE — The Montague Cultural Council is seeking public input through an online survey to help establish funding priorities for the fiscal year 2026 grant cycle.

The Cultural Council gives grants to individuals, groups and organizations to support arts, humanities and science programming.

The deadline to complete the survey is 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 20. Residents can access the survey at tinyurl.com/MontagueCulturalCouncil.

Veterans Car Show returns for sixth year

TURNERS FALLS — The Montague Elks Lodge will host its sixth annual Veterans Car Show on Sunday, Aug. 17, from noon to 4 p.m. at the lodge, 1 Elks Ave.

There will be raffles and food for sale. Guests can see a “Back to the Future” DeLorean and a 1987 Buick Grand National. LJ Davis DJ Service will act as the emcee for the show.

In the event of rain, a rain date is set for Sunday, Aug. 24.
