The Greenfield Recorder compiled a list of All-Stars for outdoor boys track & field athletes. Coaches input and performances in playoff environments helped factor into the final decisions. Intercounty league results also played a role.

Mason Youmell, Greenfield

The versatile Youmell ended a scintillating career for the Wave. After an impressive regular season in the Intercounty competing in multiple events, Youmell finished first in the 110-hurdles (15.53) and the 400-meter hurdles (56.37) at the Western Mass. Class S (Small School) championships. He finished second in the pole vault (12 feet). At the Division 6 meet, Youmell was third (15.55) in the 110-hurdles, second (56.50) in the 400-hurdles and second (12-6) in the pole vault.

Adrien Pazmandy, Frontier Regional

Pazmandy took home multiple medals at the Small School meet and the Division 6 meet in the pole vault for Frontier. At the Small School championship, Pazmandy place first overall (12-6). Pazmandy continued his streak of success at the Division 6 meet, vaulting 13 feet even on his way to an individual championship.

Luke Howard, Frontier Regional

Howard proved to not only be an elite distance runner in Western Mass., but one of the best in the state. The senior finished first overall (9:37.65) at the Class C championship in the 2-mile. In the mile, he was second (4:31.40). Howard captured a Division 6 championship in the 2-mile (9:25.82), the run was a personal best. At the Division 6 meet, Howard was third (4:22.67) in the mile. There were 37 runners from across the state in the field.

Jack Laurie, Greenfield

Laurie won a Small School championship in the javelin for the Green Wave. His throw of 158 feet, three inches was two inches better than second place. During the Intercounty season, Laurie excelled in sprinting and jumping events. Laurie jumped a personal best six feet in the high jump this season.

Nicholas LeBlanc, Athol

At the Small School championship, LeBlanc won the discus by over 13 feet. LeBlanc threw 156 feet, 11 inches to capture the individual championship. The senior finished second (44-1.75) in the shot put. LeBlanc went undefeated in Intercounty competition in the discus and the shot put. At the Meet of Champions, LeBlanc launched a personal best (162-3) to finish in eighth place.

Evan Hedlund, Frontier Regional

Hedlund finished first (4:31.35) in the mile and second (9:39.41) in the 2-mile at the Small School championship. At the Division 6 meet, Hedlund was fifth (4:23.51) in the mile and seventh (9:34.93) in the 2-mile.

Carter Berthiaume, Pioneer Valley Regional

Berthiaume placed tied for fourth (5-10) in the high jump at the Class C championships. He jumped a season best six feet, two inches in a local meet on May 4. At the Minnechaug Invitational, he placed second (six feet).

William Thomas, Franklin Tech

Thomas was a captain and had a solid Intercounty season for the Eagles. At the Small School State Vocational meet, Thomas finished in fourth place (2:08.83) in the 800-meter. At the Small School meet, Thomas was 11th (2:08.89) in the 800-meter. Thomas brought a special type of leadership to Franklin Tech and will continue running track at Paul Smith’s College next year.

Kymel Ramsey, Greenfield

The sophomore sprinter seems to be getting faster and faster for the Green Wave. Ramsey anchored the highly successful 4×100 relay team for Greenfield. He placed third (11.28) in the 100-meter and sixth (23.47) in the 200-meter at the Small School championships.

Karim Thompson, Athol

Thompson was fifth (40-7) in the triple jump at the Small School championship, reaching a personal best. He added another personal best in the long jump (19-5), finishing 10th.

Peter Healy, Mohawk Trail

The distance runner finished seventh (10:19.58) in the 2-mile at the Small School championship for the Warriors. The run was a personal best for Healy. In a meet on May 18 against Frontier and Pioneer, Healy ran a personal best (4:46.59) in the mile.

Ezra Rich, Frontier Regional

Rich placed fifth (41-0.25) at the Small School championship in the shot put. In the discus, Rich placed seventh (114-10) for the Redhawks. Rich had an impressive Intercounty season in the shot put with six first place finishes.

Tanner Biagini, Mohawk Trail

Biagini had an impressive Intercounty season in sprinting events for the Warriors. He registered a combined six first place finishes in the 100-meter and the 200-meter during local competition. He established a personal best in the 200-meter (23.36) in a meet on May 18. At the Small School championship, Biagini placed ninth (23.58) in the 200-meter.

Jahleel McGinnis, Mahar Regional

McGinnis specialized in jumping events for the Senators, experiencing great success in those events in Intercounty competition. He placed seventh in the triple jump (39-8.5) at the Small School meet in the triple jump.
