I am writing to thank Liz Kelner for her My Turn piece about the current round of violence in the Middle East. [“Praying for peace and speaking the truth,” Nov. 9]. You expressed my thoughts and sentiments beautifully.
As another American-born Jew, I believe that the “eye for an eye” philosophy and retribution never gets anyone anywhere. It simply causes more pain and suffering. I pray that all parties in the Middle East and everywhere else in the world where murder and horrific events are going on, will dig deep and find their humanity so that peaceful solutions may be found. Thank you again, Liz.
