Carver looked every bit the No. 2 seed in the MIAA Div. 8 football playoffs on Friday against Franklin Tech. 

The 15th-seeded Eagles were unable to slow down the Crusader offense, with Carver taking a 49-0 lead at the half. The Crusaders tacked on a late touchdown to knock off Franklin Tech with a 55-0 victory in Carver. 

The Crusaders (9-0) will host the winner of No. 7 KIPP Academy and No. 10 Sutton in the quarterfinals. Franklin Tech (6-3) has the option to play a non-playoff game before its Turkey Day showdown with Smith Vocational. 

Athol will compete in the Div. 8 playoffs on Saturday, going on the road to face No. 3 Hoosac Valley at 1 p.m. in Cheshire. 

Frontier 34, Taconic 7 — In a non-playoff game Friday, Ian Burt ran in a pair of touchdowns while also returning a punt to to the house to help the Redhawks earn a win over the Thunder in South Deerfield. 

Ian Burt scored a pair of touchdowns, Garrett Dredge scored a two-point conversion while Brady Poreda kicked a pair of extra points for Frontier.
