
The UMass women’s basketball team defeated Assumption in exhibition play on Sunday afternoon in the Mullins Center, 88-80.
The Minutewomen open the regular season on Monday, Nov. 6 at 6 p.m. against Saint Peter’s.
Stefanie Kulesza posted a double-double with a team-high 19 points to go along with a game-leading 15 rebounds. Kulesza hauled in 10 of her 15 boards in the second half as UMass finished with 47 rebounds on the afternoon.
Three Minutewomen joined Kulesza in double figures in the scoring department with Kristin Williams and Lilly Taulelei each adding 14 while Dallas Pierce pitched in 12 points on 5-of-6 shooting.
The Minutewomen will hit the road for two straight games following next Monday’s season opener against Saint Peter’s before returning home for non-conference action against Harvard on Nov. 16 at 6 p.m.
