Any homeowner in Franklin County who had their land/home “taken” and sold at public auction by a town for unpaid property taxes can be compensated for the amount of home equity kept by the town that exceeded what you owed.
The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled such taking of equity in excess of what is owed is unconstitutional, and the Massachusetts Land Court has said property owners “will be compensated” for money that was illegally kept by your town.
Two Greenfield property owners have filed a complaint in federal court to get their surplus home equity back — plus interest. Now it’s your turn. To find out how to get your “stolen” home equity back, please call 413-834-4284, or (516) 473-1879.
It’s your “just compensation,” money that belongs back in your pocket.
