Dun, Dun Duuun! “The climate emergency is here,” according to Mark Fischetti of Scientific American. Truth be told, if there really was a climate emergency, we’d all be dead by now. Mr. Fischetti and many, many others on the left want us to live in fear, but I say, don’t worry, be happy. A virus didn’t wipe us all out, and neither will the weather.
It’s really bizarre that the Recorder is so obsessed with climate change. Don’t they have anything else to report on? Sen. Ed Markey was in Conway recently channeling climate alarmist Al Gore (whose movie, “An Inconvenient Truth,” gave liberals panic attacks). “The planet is running a fever and there are no emergency rooms for planets, ” said Markey in the Recorder’s Aug. 3 report. Good grief, Ed!
As for this newspaper’s Aug. 5 weekend edition, that should’ve been called the climate edition. There was a front-page story on Climate change@HOME (Region reeling from ‘weather whiplash’), and on the opinion page, a climate change cartoon as well as two columns regarding (sigh) the climate. Columnist Allen Woods thinks we’re experiencing climate disasters, columnist John Bos is convinced we’re living through a “catastrophic climate crisis.” Again, we’re all going to be fine. Yes, it’s been hot for a while now because it’s summer, after all; and in four months, it’s going to be cold because it will be winter. Please, stop the fearmongering.
