The Mohawk 1 PVYBL Sandy Koufax team took home the championship over the weekend.
Mohawk earned a win over Greenfield 2 on Thursday to advance to the semis, and without a loss during the tournament, would need to fall twice on Saturday to not take home the title.
That never came into play, as Mohawk defeated Greenfield 1, 6-2, and Frontier, 11-1, to win the league. Details from the games were not available.
Mantle
Ben Caron knocked a pair of doubles and a single to drive in three runs while Austin D’Urso, Philip Morin and Gabe Salodky cracked a hit and an RBI as Frontier earned a 12-2 win over South Hadley in a Mantle contest on Saturday.
Frontier closes its regular season at 6-4. Rowan Modesto struck out six in the victory.
Pioneer Women’s
Taylor Boutwell hit for the cycle while Meg Burrington had three hits and seven RBIs in Ashfield’s 27-22 win over Shelburne on Thursday in a Pioneer Valley Women’s Adult Softball League contest.
Amanda Chapin had a pair of solo homers, Alexis Farrick had two homers and three RBIs while Shirley MacLean doubled in a run in the loss.
