On behalf of the Franklin County Community Development Corporation, I wanted to send congratulations to the winners and finalists of the Greenfield Recorder’s Franklin Favorites for 2022. Thumbing through the supplement in the March 29 edition, I was struck by the sheer number of local businesses that provide the goods and services that make our lives easier, better, and more fun. Whether they’re being honored for being the best place to get an oil change, a beer, or a bath remodel, Franklin County businesses deserve the “second round of applause” offered by the Recorder.
Entrepreneurs in our region are an economic engine, providing jobs, supporting city and town budgets through taxes, and supplying residents with cupcakes, haircuts, tacos, savings accounts, dog walking services, and so much more.
The Franklin County CDC has worked with dozens of these winners and finalists, whether by talking through a business plan and helping with financial projections early on, providing flexible loans for that crucial piece of equipment or an expansion, or bottling a favorite recipe for the grocery store shelves. We encourage you to celebrate entrepreneurs and support your neighbors by shopping local. It really does make a difference.
