I read Lew La Chance’s March 6 letter to the editor “Musings on life,” with bemused interest questioning his giving so much credit to God or having a bad back. Though Kennedy and his bad back did exist I wonder about God.
But what piqued my interest was Lew’s use of “Good gravy,” a phrase I had never heard before. I am about the same age as Lew and lived in the Midwest, the South and of course New England. Anyway, it is a great phrase and should be as popular as Good Golly Miss Molly, Holy Cow, Gee Whiz, etc.
His use of the phrase in connection to foods he enjoyed was brilliant! Thanks Lew, I’ll try to use it whenever appropriate.
