GREENFIELD — A woman was hospitalized with minor injuries following a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Conway and Devens streets on Monday, according to Fire Chief Robert Strahan.
The crash was reported shortly before 12:30 p.m. The injured woman was given a neck brace, helped out of the vehicle by emergency medical technicians, loaded onto a gurney and transported by South County EMS to Baystate Franklin Medical Center shortly before 1 p.m.
The injured woman was the sole passenger of a gray Honda Odyssey, which sustained heavy damage to its passenger side. The side airbags deployed on the passenger side. Another woman, the vehicle’s driver, sustained no reported injuries and exited the vehicle unassisted.
The other involved vehicle was a white Jeep Patriot, which sustained heavy front-end damage. One woman from this vehicle was observed arguing with the Honda’s driver after the crash.
Koch’s Automotive towed the Honda, while the Jeep was able to drive away.
Both the Greenfield Fire and Police departments responded. Police blocked off the intersection and diverted vehicle traffic while personnel tended to the emergency.
