During the state of the city address, did the mayor seriously insinuate that the Police Department is not “further along” with improving implicit and systemic racism within the Police Department because the City Council didn’t give her the funding for the police audit? I watched those meetings where the Police Department audit discussions took place. The reason the audit didn’t happen is because, more or less, not enough councilors trusted the mayor.
