What’s the true meaning of Christmas?

That’s a good question because there are many people who don’t know the answer.

A good majority of people believe it’s a time to celebrate, but they don’t celebrate the main reason for Christmas, which is the birth of Jesus Christ.

Most people believe it’s the time to give and receive presents, but they don’t know that the greatest gift that God could give mankind was His Son.

The true meaning for Christmas is the arrival of God in the form of a human being, Jesus Christ. The reason Jesus came that first Christmas Day was because all people everywhere could be saved from the penalty of their sins against a holy God. A sin is anything that falls short of God’s perfect standard.

This means we all fall short.

How can we have our sins taken away?

That’s a good question and each of us should ask it for our own sake.

Because the sin we are all born with has separated us from a holy God, He came up with the perfect plan to save us.

Jesus was the only person who was born without sin. He didn’t have a human father like everybody else, so the blood in His veins wasn’t tainted with sin that’s passed on from generation to generation.

Christmas is the time to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, the birth of the son of God who came into this world to save us. By believing in what Jesus did for us personally we not only can be forgiven, but also receive eternal life.

I hope you receive God’s greatest gift to you this Christmas. May you all have a merry Christmas and a happy new year.
