I want to publicly thank Al Norman of Greenfield for the help he provided to the citizens of Hudson in fighting off the largest redevelopment proposal in our town’s history.
A developer from Atlanta, Georgia proposed a 1.2 million square foot warehouse/distribution center abutting two condominium complexes. We formed a group called “Stop the Warehouse,” and I reached out to Al for advice on how to defend our properties from this enormous warehouse facility. Al did extensive research and helped prepare testimony for our residents to present to our Planning Board. He also connected us with Attorney Michael Pill of Northampton, who prepared our legal case.
After several Planning Board hearings, strong resistance from the community, and a legal complaint filed by Attorney Pill, the developer announced this week that it is withdrawing its application. We are grateful that we had people like Al Norman available on short notice to help us reach this important outcome.
