I enjoyed reading Tuesday’s article on helping inmates transition from lockup to life on the outside, and about all the work on this issue that has been done at UMass Amherst. I found it very odd, however, that a photo of someone not even mentioned in the article (Franklin County Sheriff Christopher Donelan) accompanied the article on the front page, but Ed Hayes, director of treatment at the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, who was extensively quoted, was not pictured. I’m sure it’s easier run stock photos already on hand, but the Recorder should have made the effort to run a photo of Mr. Hayes.
